Battle of the setting powders

Which setting powder is better? The too faced peach perfect mattifying setting powder or the Laura mercier translucent setting powder?

RE: Battle of the setting powders

I didn’t care for the Laura Mercier one at all. Never understood the huuuuggge hype around it.. it was just an average powder to me. I actually really am a fan of the Too Faced Peach Perfect powder though! Very mattifying, super cute packaging, and smells great. I’ve also tried NARS, Bare Minerals, and Cover FX and I keep coming back to my TF💕

RE: Battle of the setting powders

I like the MAC Cosmetics setting powder these days.

Re: Battle of the setting powders

The Too Faced smells amazing but I prefer the Laura Mercier, too.

Re: Battle of the setting powders

@Aynoor Between those two I would choose Laura Mercier translucent loose setting powder. I have both and I find it superior.

However, I’ve replaced both in my routine with another loose powder that I feel performs better:

It comes in three shades. My favourites are Taffetas Beige (shown here) and Mousseline Pastel.

I was finding that both the Laura Mercier and Too Faced powders were drying out my skin too much and drawing more attention to my fine lines, while Givenchy Prisme Libre gives a more radiant blur effect. Would you say the same, @fieldsofclover?

Re: Battle of the setting powders

@PinkEvergreen Exactly, I used the Laura Mercier for years and it's good stuff, but I think this year I'm crossing some kind of invisible line where it is starting to look a bit aging on me. I've switched to the Prisme Libre now (Pastel Mousseline for me, I'm pretty pale) and I am definitely getting a better finish from it.

My skin also used to be a lot more combo/oily and is more normal to slightly dry now, so if you're more combo the LM may still be the best fit.
