Picks nose! Nose sebum Serum/moisturizer/essence anything suggestions

Is there any oil/serum/moisturizer anything I can put on my nose to help keep my pores clean and unclogged after a wash or extractions? That isn't a Pore strip! They don't work for me they don't pull anything out. I've used tools but they're alittle painful and take a long time and they clog right back up later. My nose starts to look like a pickle.

I've been using this Skinfood Peach Sake Toner on my nose because of the blackheads. I can tell you that it does work. I bought it on amazon.ca but I guess it's sold on Ulta as well. And it's not crazy expensive. So give it a try if you can find it. After washing my face with a salicylic acid/pore cleansing face wash, I pat this toner with my hands on my face. Oh and I use a Clarisonic whenever I take a shower. And as a daily foundation, I use Urban Decay One&Done, especially on my big pore/blackhead areas. I believe it helps with the pore size as well. As primer, some makes my pores bigger somehow. Maybe because of the ingredients. Dr. Brandt Pores No More and Benefit Porefessional makes my pores get bigger after a few uses. I like Hourglass Veil best. Oh and don't pick your blackheads and try not to irritate your skin while cleaning and don't forget the moisturizer after cleaning.

Have you tried a charcoal mask followed by oil? Basically you let the mud mask/charcoal mask dry, then take a face oil and rub it into the mask until it breaks it down and dissolves it, then rinse and wash your face with a normal face wash.

Hi @feauty

I'm not aware of any product that will work permanently, unfortunately. For your pores on your nose, do you find they tend to be darker in colour (like a blackhead) or are they flesh coloured?

It almost sounds to me like you might have sebaceous filaments, which are flesh coloured rather than dark (like a blackhead). Sebaceous filaments occur naturally, so there isn't much you can do. They won't cause an issue, so they're best left alone.

If you are prone to blackheads, the best way I've found that helps keep my skin clear of blackheads is actually regular use of salicylic acid (about 2-3x per week). I've used Paula's Choice 2% BHA liquid before, but I've recently switched to the option from Deciem's The Ordinary.

@lachaton how are you finding The Ordinary's salicylic acid? I'm only about 1/3 through my current bottle of PC's BHA but seriously considering switching once I'm done (free shipping and cheaper!)

@k617 I can see it being a bit trickier to use in the mornings! If you find any other possible dupes, please let me know 🙂

I don't love that The Ordinary includes witch hazel (I'm not a fan in general), so I'm not sure yet whether I want to commit to it. So far, so good - I think I can finish this bottle before I make up my mind. I'm planning to test Biologique Recherche P50T next.

@lachaton thanks! I use BHA in the morning so maybe it'll be issue for me. It is so inexpensive though maybe I'll order this and do a trial run before I run out of the PC just in case I decide to go back to it!

Re: Picks nose! Nose sebum Serum/moisturizer/essence anything suggestions

@k617 I've only been using it for 2 weeks so these are very preliminary impressions - but so far, I think it will work as a dupe for PC 2%! I prefer the liquid to this gel-like consistency, but it seems to absorb fairly well after a moment. I only use it at night so the texture isn't an issue for me. Most importantly, I don't have any reactions to it and my skin seems to be as clear as it normally is 🙂
