NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

I don't think we have one of these yet... But, if I'm wrong, please do correct me.

I've been wanting to make this thread for a while now, but as it usually is... Life got and gets in the way. But, better late than never, huh?

I've been enjoying many natural skincare products for the last 15 years or so, on and off ( mainly facial oils and balms, but masks, treatments, and body oils and balms, as well. ) I even used to make my own for years ( years ago ) as good natural skincare products were not a very easy thing to obtain. You'd have to try and hunt down quality ingredients and make stuff yourself most of the time. And, that was quite a task! It makes me happy to see that there is so many wonderful products widely and easily available lately. It makes things so much easier! 🙂

Natural skincare performs better for me personally. I love and enjoy using it. My skin adores it. I love the idea of it and behind it. So, I wanted to make a place for us natural skincare lovers to talk about anything natural skincare as I see there are many others out there that are interested, or already in love with it, as well. So why not have our own little place on here? 🙂 So we can share our experiences ( good and/or bad ), loves, favorite products, favorite brands and their news/new launches, discus things, share our daily routines, talk DIYs if anyone is into that, why not? Anything really.

By "natural" skincare here I'm talking about skincare made mostly or completely of ingredients available in nature, like plant-derived ingredients, minerals... You know, the whole nine. 😉

Anyway - feel free to join in! You don't have to be a natural skincare lover exclusively. Everybody's welcome!

A word of caution... For those who are new to natural skincare, proceed with caution. Inform and educate yourself really well on everything you are interested in trying and putting on your skin. Natural does not mean it won't hurt you! And, it certainly doesn't mean it's safe. Some natural ingredients can be irritating for some people. Go with what's good for you, don't force anything on your skin just because someone said it is good. Do patch tests. Be smart. People prone to allergies should pay careful attention to what they use on their skin.

P.S. I am not completely and 100% natural, nor I imagine I ever will be as I do love me some other stuff, as well. But mostly, yes.

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

@pixiedust2 after you posted, I kept looking online and I realized how many of them had dimethicone right at the top. The two that I posted above I don't think have any but the might be too "sunscreeny” I haven't tried it. 2B550C9F-1D5C-4534-A045-048D10E18CD1.jpeg3F45F2AA-DBDB-4DFA-B1BA-91F21675EAB8.jpeg6B8E1EC1-04B6-4945-8325-256540D75BE6.jpeg

Here's some that I found at Ulta. They coincidentally just added them to the site!

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

@makeitup305 Thanks so much! And I was just coming here to post that Pacifica one 😂 I’m definitely gonna give that one a try. Thanks for the other suggestion!

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

@pixiedust2 I’m pretty sure the pacifica is brand new so you might just be in luck! Also, I think the Babo Botanicals has some dimethicone but it's the second to last ingredient. It's a nice brand, and I think that one might be a good option for under makeup :O)

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

I can't say enough good things about Kypris Heliotropic, but it's expensive AF.

You may also want to give Josh Rosebrook Nutrient Day Cream a try. I'm not a fan of how fast it absorbs (first world problems, I know), as I feel I'm not able to spread it evenly. But it's not bad, and HG for many.

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

@fantaji Thank you, I actually just discovered the Josh Rosebrook line yesterday! As nice as it sounds, I refuse to pay that much for sunscreen. It’s even more expensive than the Kypris! I go through SPF fairly quickly and I frankly just can’t afford some of these prices. But I thank you for the suggestions. I’m just so frustrated by my never ending search. As soon as I find one that works for me, it’s either DC or reformulated in a negative way.

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

Totally understand. I try to stock up on it when there's a discount or a GwP offer, and also tell myself that since it doubles as a moisturizer and a primer - I am saving money on those.

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

Trilogy Skincare has some products now available at Ulta. I feel like I've heard some good things about their Rosehip oil range. Does anyone have any experience with it?

Also, Walmart has a natural skincare and makeup brand called Found. I've been really liking their eye balm under my eyes in the morning and it was only $12 🙂

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

@makeitup305  I've only tried their Rosapene Radiance Serum.

"A silky textured serum to hydrate, refresh and instantly smooth skin. Formulated with our unique antioxidant complex Rosapene™, a blend of rosehip oil and powerful antioxidants, this certified natural serum nourishes skin while helping protect against free radical damage. Sea algae helps boost skin radiance, while aloe maintains moisture balance and soothes for a smoother, glowing complexion."

I really liked how it brightened and evened out my skin tone instantly, and made my skin silky smooth. But, is was not hydrating at all. It was, actually, very drying on me. A minute or two after application, my skin would get so uncomfortably dry and tight, even though I'd follow with other skincare, I was just uncomfy using it, so I stopped. But, it could be nice for someone with oily to normal, skin. It just didn't work for my dry skin.

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

Has anyone used Aurelia Cell Repair Night Oil? Thoughts?

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

@fatimamummy  I've tried this some years back. It did absolutely nothing  ( good ) for me. No matter what I did, or how I applied it, it would just sit on top of my skin. And, my skin is dry and thirsty, it soaks up everything. It ended up clogging my pores and making my skin look thick and texturized. If you can, get a sample first and try before you buy.

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

Thank you for the feed back @lyravega . Clogging pores is the last thing I want to do. I guess I’ll steer clear from it 7ntill I can get a sample to try.

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

@fatimamummy I haven’t tried this as I tend to avoid stuff with citrus as much as possible but Green Chilli was a huge fan of this one

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

@Mochapj  You’re right!  It was green chili not Dali! Miss her! ❤️❤️❤️

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

Thank you for feed back @Mochapj , @sister13 I’m looking for something with a bit of relaxing effect. This one caught my eye but almond oil usually doesn’t agree with my skin. Is there any other oil or balm with relaxing properties that is worth trying?

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

@fatimamummy Late last year DeMamiel put out a line of oils and a balm geared towards relaxation. I think most of it is meant more for pulse points and breathing rather than applying to the face, but it might be worth looking into. I believe the product names are Anchor, Rest, Relax, Awake and there’s one or two more.

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

Thank you @Mochapj That is actually a great suggestion. I just look them up and I think “settle” will do what I’m looking for.

Re: NATURAL SKINCARE TALK

@Anonymous  likes this one, I think? And or maybe @Mochapj has a review? @fatimamummy
