Green beauty/silicone free primer?

I feel like primers are a seriously under-represented category in green beauty. What’s your go to? Bonus points if you could find a mattifying primer, which seems nonexistent in green beauty!

Re: Green beauty/silicone free primer?

The MILK MAKEUP - Blur Stick worked great for me. I normally use primers with silicone and was very surprised when I found out that the milk one doesn't have silicone. It blurs like a dream!

Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer 0.7 oz/ 20 g  I also own this one and it has lots of silicones on it (my husband is a chem engineer in the cosmetics industry and he confirmed it for me by looking at the ingredients list), it does blur, but I honestly think the Milk makeup blur stick does a better job.

Re: Green beauty/silicone free primer?

Tatcha Silk Canvas Protective Primer has silicone. I tried it and it didn't work for me but I have super oily skin so most primers don't work for me. I also tried milk Blur Stick which is silicone-free but that primer didn't work with my oily skin either. I currently use Jouer Anti-Blemish Matte Primer and Smashbox Primer Water. Both are silicone-free but they are not green. Too Faced Hangover Rx is also silicone-free but it's not green either. The problem is that there really aren't a lot of silicone-free primers on the market which is a shame if silicone makes you break out like I do. I am also curious if anyone knows of a silicone-free, green primer.

Re: Green beauty/silicone free primer?

It doesn't have the green seal, but Milk Makeup's Blur Stick is a silicone-free, matte primer. It's also vegan! Milk also brands themselves as a company that uses "good/clean" ingredients.

Re: Green beauty/silicone free primer?

The Tatcha is a nice primer, @ransorge@PenelopeBT suggested a great one that is Ingredient conscious! If you find that it is a little too $, skyn Iceland makes a silicone-free primer, Pure Pore Minimizer, that is mattifying as well!

Re: Green beauty/silicone free primer?

Hi @ransorge,

I just discovered Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer 0.7 oz/ 20 g  and it's my new favorite primer. Funny thing is, I'm not even a primer person. I usually avoid that step because I find it unnecessary. However, I love that this is lightweight, silky and creates a smooth canvas for makeup. I recommend waiting one minute after your skincare before applying it.

It's also a Clean at Sephora product.

Stay Gorgeous,

Penelope
