What is this? My attempt to ensure we all enter the Fall seeervvvviiiiinnggg. I loved the past two rounds, but I didn't get enough. I want more. I'm greedy. (That's why this one is called "feed me" 😂)
The weeks ahead, I want you to select a blush or cheek/complexion product from the theme to blush your best.
Week 1 (Sep 29-Oct 5): Serve...entering the 🍂, and a week out of NYFW (OOP, yet apropos to be fashionably late with this), let's serve. We're at the the helm, Paris Fashion Week. Take a trend from the runways.
Some ideas:
Cloud Blush
Orange Blush
Blurred berry blush
Dewy Skin
Colorful lashes
Week 2 (Oct 6-12): Signature. What blush look or color defines you best, meaning...if you were a blush, you'd be ______
Week 3 (Oct 13-oct 19): Snatch. Let's contour, my cheek-quettes! Face Mapping time! See 🏫🎓BIC University 🎓🏫 for tips and maps.
Week 4: (Oct 20-26) Snatchural (🙏🏽 @adityamadiraju for this term). Give me high blush with a light flush
Week 5: (Oct 27-Nov 2) Spook-ay . Halloween Week 🎃👻 Go orange, Go vamp, Go trick, treat, sweet
Week 6(Nov 3-9): Splay & Slay...Blush Blindness. Go as bold with it as your willing. Make it your persona.
Additional weeks (?) TBD.
Halloween Week
This was my interpretation of "Kiss of the Spiderwoman". Initially I was just going to go with the current/new version, but it's so subtle and not a challenge. I went for the Sonia version, and well, was challenged. I think if I tried it again, I'd conceal my actual brow and draw on a thin brow and then try the graphic lines
Benefit Cosmetics Silky-Soft Powder Blush Butterfly
Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Creamy Bronzing Powder 110 sun embrace
Fenty Demi lighter in Trophies in Truffle
Splay and Slay, subtle
I wanted to play with Dior's new liquid blush, this is Orchid. It's. So. Fragrant. I used rephr's 38 to handle the mousse texture and also ombre it with DIOR Forever Glow Maximizer Longwear Liquid Highlighter 016 Bronze and DIOR Forever Glow Maximizer Longwear Liquid Highlighter 013 Gold with a slight overlay of DIOR Rosy Glow Blush Stick 103 Toffee (but powder). I really like toffee with orchid.
OMGosh, @danielledanielle ! Kiss of the Spiderwoman is amazing! 🕸
I love the sophisticated look of the subtle slay with the Dior liquid blush. ✨️
Snatchural. Some of the shadow is hair, but this is a combo of Danessa Myricks Beauty Groundwork: Defining Neutrals - Palette For Eyes, Brows, Face & Lips , NARS Talc-Free Powder Blush Orgasm Rush – 775 , DIOR Forever Glow Maximizer Longwear Liquid Highlighter 017 Nude and Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Creamy Bronzing Powder
And the eyes are Danessa Myricks Lightwork VII with colorfix duo 9
Does anyone want a full walkthrough of my face map? I'm not claiming mastery, it's just a mashup of trial and error+ techniques I picked up.
You can say no...I usually do light walkthroughs because I tend to overthink what I'm writing. I don't know if you wanted more detail? I guess that's what I'm asking.
@danielledanielle - What you have on BIC U. is helpful to me. If you have more tips, I'm always open. This is all new to me. The one thing I'm still confused about is when to add my foundation and where to put my blush. I use my blush where my contour goes. Do I put my blush on top of my contour, do I relocate my blush, or not use it at all?
Ahhh, ok @Titian06 ... This is essentially a slightly revised stream of thought
You can do foundation before or after. Usually if I underpaint/do it before, I'm layering it in, so it looks a little softer. The downside is sometimes it's hard to gauge how much foundation, or things get blended out too well, but this is good if you know you're heavy handed and if you have time.
I will sometimes underpaint and then go back and touch up the areas I want and then set it with powder.
R/T where the contour goes...I think density for placement of contour/brontour, so your blush technically goes above your contour, so if I'm trying to wear both, I'll place the contour further back and blend that out and the sort of blend the blush up and away so it doesn't get muddy. Almost like doing ombre blush, except I'm not dragging the shadow part as far. Then, because you want to highlight whenever you contour, I've been dragging my blush further into my undereye, blending it in with my concealer a bit. Yes, this is round face blush placement.... What it does is make my face look fuller, but the shadow emphasizes my cheekbone.
I try to think of where I want someone's eyes to focus. I try to keep the center the focus, my nose actually, and then create additional depth in some of my natural hallows. The only one I kind of cheat/create is the cheekbone .
Week 3 (Oct 13-oct 19): Snatch. Let's contour, my cheek-quettes! Face Mapping time! See 🏫🎓BIC University 🎓🏫 for tips and maps.
I followed @danielledanielle 's suggestion on BIC University and my results and discussion with her are there.
Today, I used #MAKEUP BY MARIO SoftSculpt Transforming Skin Enhancer® Medium to contour under my cheekbones according to my results. I used Saie Glowy Super Gel Lightweight Dewy Multipurpose Illuminator to highlight the middle of my forehead also per my results. I then applied my makeup as usual.
Results: Big, shiny, oily looking spot in the middle of my forehead 🤣 A bit more shadow under/emphasis on my cheekbones. This gave my square/semi-rectangular (squangular?) face a bit of "waistline" at the midpoint.
Is it worth the effort/time? No. The shiny forehead comes naturally. I don't need to create one. The cheek shadows are an extra step I don't need. It was fun to try though! 🙂
@Titian06 🤣🤣
I'm so happy you tried. I think next week is more to your liking, it's basically choosing an item for placement where you'd contour for a softer shadow, basically what you do with your blush
Thanks, @danielledanielle ! 💕 I do enjoy these challenges. 💖
@Titian06 I have a feeling your conclusion may be where I end up at the end of the week as well.
Maybe, @missjeanie ...but it was still fun to play with a different look and to see what all the fuss is about! 😄
@Titian06 Very true. I enjoyed getting out of my regular routine!
@Titian06 those orange blushes just make me happy 💛
Awww, that's wonderful, @CookieGirl1 ! 🧡🧡🧡
