Thought I'd start a thread just for Viseart since so many of us LOVE them. ![]()
I love to encourage a small brand as opposed to a brand where you pay for the name. The eye shadow quality can't be beat!

Price breakdown for those interested
Saw this on Facebook a while back and thought I'd add it here.
A 12 color Viseart Eyeshadow Palette is $80 USD (before pro discount). Each eyeshadow pan is 2 grams and valued at approx. $6 ($3.00 per gram).
MAC has reduced the price of their single eyeshadows refills from $10 USD to $6 USD each. So 12 colors at the new reduced price would be $72 USD (before pro discount). Add the $8 USD empty palette to store them and we're back to $80 USD.
EXCEPT: Each MAC eyeshadow pan is only 1.3 grams ($4.62 per gram). You're getting only 15.6 grams of product, as opposed to the 24 grams of eyeshadow in the Viseart palette. That's a loss of over 8 grams of product.
FINAL ANALYSIS:
It would cost $119 USD for MAC to duplicate the Viseart palette (24 grams of MAC eyeshadow at $4.62 per gram and $8 for the palette).
I have all of them except Paris nudes and honestly they are all amazing, no fallout. The comment about mixing them together is also spot on. The possibilities are endless!
For me the 01 is pretty much my every day go to for transition shades and highlight (I personally don't like shimmer in my brow bone highlight). My next favorite is sultry muse. The shades are amazing, particularly the champagne and silvery shades which are incredible inner corner highlights. Dark mattes is great quality but I find I use that one less. I rarely do all matte eye looks, so I find I don't reach for that one as much. The cool mattes is also great, but I definitely tend to use 2-3 of the shades the most when I need a cool toned transition shade.
Hope that helps!
You're really making me want Sultry Muse now! When I started out looking at which palettes to get next that one was at the top of my list, so maybe I should go with my gut and just get it. Now I'm thinking Cool Mattes, Sultry Muse and Paris Nudes are the ones to get? With Cool Mattes I'm not expecting to use it for a full eye look but rather as a complement to the other palettes so I have all of my bases covered when it comes to your typical transition, crease and outer v shades.
Thank you for the comment, I think I've been convinced to stick with Sultry Muse instead of Bridal Satins. I had read a lot of more negative reviews of Sultry Muse which got me worried about it. I think one of the common complaints was that it just wasn't that special or was easily dupable, but that doesn't matter much to me when I don't have a ton of palettes to start out with and am happy to pay the extra money for the quality of the Viseart shadows!
Cool mattes is a great companion palette. That's how I use it too....it has a couple really nice pinky browns and then they include the white shade too, so you can tone down some of the darker shades and make them into transition shades.
And yes, Sultry muse is standard shimmery neutrals, but the quality is so amazing. Not chunky at all, so blendable and just perfection! If I were starting my makeup collection from scratch, I'd buy these and call it a day!
Thanks! I'm definitely getting Sultry Muse and Cool Mattes. I think Paris Nudes will be the third but I'm starting to second guess myself and consider getting Bridal Satin instead. So I'm going to have those 4 in my cart and make a final decision when the sale starts.
@MK89 Thank you, MK! I felt the same way about you in Dark Mattes. That look was incredible — you looked so sultry and mysterious!
@meganlisa Thanks! I don't wear the Cool Mattes all that often even though I really like it. Maybe today...
And thanks on the scarf, too. It's probably my favorite. It's all hot pink and red and purple.... I love it!
Thank you, that does help and the colors look beautiful on you!
I don't think what I would suggest would be useful, because it sounds like your color preferences are different than mine.
that said, I did want to suggest you have backup selections. The Viseart palettes have tended to disappear really quickly during the sale, or outright show as OOS right away, so it's always smart to pick a backup palette in case your first choices are gone.
ps - I don't find I have fallout with the sultry palette
Thanks! Do you find the lighter shades in Sultry Muse to be highly pigmented? I would really like some light/bright shades that I can easily layer over darker ones if things get blended a little too far in, etc.
I will definitely have some backup selections in mind in case things sell out quickly. I'm considering staying up until the sale is supposed to start but since I'm on the east coast I'm not really sure that I want to be up until 3am... With my luck I would stay up to wait for the sale and then they wouldn't activate the codes when they're supposed to.
I do find sultry muse to be highly pigmented, but I have yet to try a Viseart palette that wasn't highly pigmented, regardless of shade choice.
I find it takes very little product to achieve opacity and you can always layer the shades to blend your own custom tones. In fact, I would say Viseart shadows are the best I've tried for doing that. You can tap your brush in multiple pans to build a custom color and you don't have to work to make them blend seamlessly.
personally I've wondered if Sephora only earmarks a certain quantity for the sales. I recall last time I looked everything was already sold out the morning of.
Now you're making me rethink whether I need Sultry Muse, lol. I've definitely found the neutral mattes palette to be highly pigmented and it's been a lot of fun creating custom colors by tapping in the different pans. That's one of the reasons I really want to get more of them, but also one of the reasons that I've taken Dark Mattes off of my list. I feel like for the shades in Dark Mattes that I could see myself actually using, I would be able to customize shades enough using the other palettes to get a similar shade (especially if I would only be using the darker colors in very small areas).
I really hope that Sephora doesn't limit the number of palettes available during the sale but I've been concerned about the same thing. I was hoping that being Rouge would give me enough of an advantage to be able to get what I want the morning of the sale. It's really annoying being on eastern time when these things happen because staying up until 3am can be pretty tough. It feels like it would be a lot more fair if they would have these things start either during the day or at midnight eastern, since people on western time will be up anyway. But oh well, I'll get what I can and if some are sold out then I guess it will be even easier to decide! 🙂
UPDATE! I spoke with the brand and Posy is NOT being released this year. They decided to release Ribbons Boheme instead.
I sure hope Sephora can fix all the mistakes it has made on the brands page. I called them twice and relayed the info to the brand.
BOOOOOOOO! I would much rather Posy than Boheme 😞
I had a good look at Posy this morning, shadow by shadow, and I really liked it (though I don't like the look of the overall palette). That's really a shamed. I liked what I was seeing!
It seems so odd that Sephora would post a new item (with a photo & name) for a product that apparently isn't being released this year...
yeah I don't get it.
@veronika23 based on what they told you, it sounds like maybe posy was originally intended and perhaps that is why the mistake. Maybe whoever does these updates on the website didn't get that memo 😄
alternatively, since they replaced editorial brights sku with ribbons photo, maybe the posy sku was supposed to be ribbons?
@Mochapj Yeah but the way I understood it was that Posy wasn't releasing this year and they chose to release ribbons early instead... and if posy is still being formulated why is there a pic of a product not completed yet floating around on Sephora's site... AND the pic they have for ribbons is "filtered" somehow... so did Sephora manipulate the pics themselves?
yeah you maybe right... was thinking that also, that the posy sku is for ribbons.
