I love to encourage a small brand as opposed to a brand where you pay for the name. The eye shadow quality can't be beat!

Saw this on Facebook a while back and thought I'd add it here.

A 12 color Viseart Eyeshadow Palette is $80 USD (before pro discount). Each eyeshadow pan is 2 grams and valued at approx. $6 ($3.00 per gram).

MAC has reduced the price of their single eyeshadows refills from $10 USD to $6 USD each. So 12 colors at the new reduced price would be $72 USD (before pro discount). Add the $8 USD empty palette to store them and we're back to $80 USD.

EXCEPT: Each MAC eyeshadow pan is only 1.3 grams ($4.62 per gram). You're getting only 15.6 grams of product, as opposed to the 24 grams of eyeshadow in the Viseart palette. That's a loss of over 8 grams of product.

FINAL ANALYSIS:
It would cost $119 USD for MAC to duplicate the Viseart palette (24 grams of MAC eyeshadow at $4.62 per gram and $8 for the palette).

It's a coolish, taupe/grey quad.

Will do!  It will probably be a bit - I asked them to send it USPS instead of Fedex so the shipping $ wouldn't be so absurd.  

I'm expecting it won't be here until Friday/next Monday. 😞

In related news...I feel like the first person in the world to get a theory palette, lol. Viseart assumed my picture (the one they reposted sans credit) was taken by musebeauty because they didn't even realize their items had cleared customs and been shipped out to people already. I want to love the palette and use it but I'm still grumpy that they won't credit me already. It's not fair to use my picture for publicity and not put my name on it! -_-

No, I have silver topaz and don't think they're the same.  IMO.

Cooler/cooler yes, but swatched...not in my opinion.

I have Silvered Topaz too, and ordered Cashmere.

I'm half hoping they are the same since I broke a few shades in my ST.

You are talking about the Theory palettes right? Got mixed info about these... I thought it was a Muse Beauty Pro exclusive but also heard they are coming. Muse emails say that both the Theory palette and Ribbons 02 are exclusive BUT I was told that the Ribbons 02 would be at Sephora by April 15th... I know Muse got a shipping delay for ribbons and for those who pre-ordered that one it was supposed to ship at the end of March and now shipping by April 12th. Also seems the new ribbons 02 is on the Sephora site BUT the sku is the same as Editorial Brights 08... so did they screw up?  Name + pic = ribbons, sku = brights 08.  So if in fact if it hasn't arrived maybe all the new ones Theory + ribbons will arrive shortly?  Not really helpful is it... 😕

i think after that they will go to other vendors.

comparison of Tom Ford Honeymoon and Viseart Minx. They are similar enough that you don't need both. I hope they'll be more different on the eyes. Long swatches are Honeymoon, shorter ones on top are similar shades in Minx.

The main differences:

Honeymoon is sheerer, and all shimmer whereas Minx has three matte shades and three shimmer shades. The corresponding burgundy-ish shade in Honeymoon is a little pinker, and the champagne/beige shade is a tiny tiny bit pinker as well (but almost the same). Honeymoon also doesn't have the gorgeous coppery shade in Minx. However, they do both have similar color schemes. Overall, Honeymoon is softer and more shimmery whereas the shimmers in Minx are a bit more metallic and pigmented.
