Thought I'd start a thread just for Viseart since so many of us LOVE them.

I love to encourage a small brand as opposed to a brand where you pay for the name. The eye shadow quality can't be beat!

Saw this on Facebook a while back and thought I'd add it here.

A 12 color Viseart Eyeshadow Palette is $80 USD (before pro discount). Each eyeshadow pan is 2 grams and valued at approx. $6 ($3.00 per gram).

MAC has reduced the price of their single eyeshadows refills from $10 USD to $6 USD each. So 12 colors at the new reduced price would be $72 USD (before pro discount). Add the $8 USD empty palette to store them and we're back to $80 USD.

EXCEPT: Each MAC eyeshadow pan is only 1.3 grams ($4.62 per gram). You're getting only 15.6 grams of product, as opposed to the 24 grams of eyeshadow in the Viseart palette. That's a loss of over 8 grams of product.

FINAL ANALYSIS:
It would cost $119 USD for MAC to duplicate the Viseart palette (24 grams of MAC eyeshadow at $4.62 per gram and $8 for the palette).

There is some overlap in the shades it seems, but it's not an exact match.

haha I posted before you edited I think.  yeah it's like the original dark mattes... which I wish I had... not the same as the one now but similar.  I wish I knew when it will launch. I can't miss that one....

Why does the Ribbons Boheme pallet look matte on the Sephora website? It's definitely shimmery in every other picture I've seen. Does anyone know?

@kim31 there's a mistake on the website.  It's actually not ribbons.  pic + name = ribbons boheme 02, sku = editorial brights 08. and I think they filtered the pic

@veronika23 but it's not the editorial brights either. That one is much brighter and has a white in it. It looks like the Ribbons boheme but matte, which is strange.

@makeitup305 No what I am saying is that the sku is for the brights. If you order what the Sephora site calls Ribbons Boheme (which is the pic but filtered) you will get Editorial Bright.  Just like mentioned above the product says (name + pic) is ribbons but the sku is for the brights. So that's what you will receive, Editorial Brights 08.  Basically they need to change the picture and the name back to 08.

@MK89 do you have any of the other viseart theory palettes?  any sense at to whether any others have this close overlap to TF quads?  My pocketbook sure would be happy, though Ive already got Honeymoon.

I ordered all three theory palettes (because I figure I have a "collection" rather than a "problem") and I have a number of TF palettes... so I'll take a look and swatch comparable shades once mine arrive (hopefully this week, since tracking says they're now in Canada).

Unfortunately, I lost most of my swatch photos.  My phone was replaced by apple the morning after the show and the swatches were on my phone not camera...and I forgot to back them up.
