Thought I'd start a thread just for Viseart since so many of us LOVE them.

I love to encourage a small brand as opposed to a brand where you pay for the name. The eye shadow quality can't be beat!

Saw this on Facebook a while back and thought I'd add it here.

A 12 color Viseart Eyeshadow Palette is $80 USD (before pro discount). Each eyeshadow pan is 2 grams and valued at approx. $6 ($3.00 per gram).

MAC has reduced the price of their single eyeshadows refills from $10 USD to $6 USD each. So 12 colors at the new reduced price would be $72 USD (before pro discount). Add the $8 USD empty palette to store them and we're back to $80 USD.

EXCEPT: Each MAC eyeshadow pan is only 1.3 grams ($4.62 per gram). You're getting only 15.6 grams of product, as opposed to the 24 grams of eyeshadow in the Viseart palette. That's a loss of over 8 grams of product.

FINAL ANALYSIS:
It would cost $119 USD for MAC to duplicate the Viseart palette (24 grams of MAC eyeshadow at $4.62 per gram and $8 for the palette).

Hello fellow Viseart lovers.  Your kind help and opinion is requested. If money is not an issue, which one would choose and why...Viseart’s neutral matte palette or Makeup by Mario’s neutral matte palette? Any feedback is deeply appreciated. Cheers!!!

Hi @fcappy ! I'm probably not the best person to answer your question because I don't own MAKEUP BY MARIO Master Mattes® Eyeshadow Palette: The Original 12 x 0.03 oz/ 1 g  or any other Makeup By Mario products. I can't really speak to any of those. 

But I do own several Viseart palettes and single shadows. Viseart makes my favorite mattes by any brand. Their mattes are usually buttery soft and easy to blend. You know how some brands' mattes are so dry and chalky, they become a dusty barely-there mess when you try to blend them out? I've never had that happen with a Viseart matte. And they're nicely pigmented: they work well on my deeper skin tone. 

Viseart direct has a spring sale that ends tonight (3/28): 30 - 40% off everything. Right now they still have the Neutral Mattes pallete (the "slim pro" version, which just means it's in their updated magnetic palette) in stock for $48 USD, as well as Dark Mattes and Neutral Mattes Milieu. They also still have the huge (35-pan) all-mattes Grand Pro 1X palette for $105. Or you can buy single matte shadows for $6 a piece, if you want to test a few before committing to a full palette. I don't know which time zone Viseart's using for their sale cutoff, though. 

Caution, if you plan to order online from Sephora: Thanks to the way Sephora's warehouses pack boxes, I've received some palettes (Viseart and Natasha Denona) with cracked/broken shadows, detached pans (a pan in my Dark Mattes palette was completely unglued and floating around atop all the other shadows), and broken cases. It's made me very reluctant to order full sized palettes online from Sephora again, so I usually won't buy from them unless one of my local Sephora stores carries the palette I want—so I can go buy it in person instead of risk it getting damaged at the warehouse or in transit. I'm not saying you'll have the same problem. Just tossing this out there as a cautionary tale.

I just was on Viseart's website this evening.  For those who are interested, Viseart has expanded their singles selection on their website.  It now includes more mattes and select shimmers from the Theory and Grande Pro 2 palettes.  @WinglessOne

Thanks @MCSSavvy ! I was also at Viseart's site tonight, thinking I might finally snag a backup Editorial Brights palette at 40% off (but nope, it's OOS again). 🙂 I'm glad they've finally added shimmer singles! Also good to see matte singles from more of their palettes.

Viseart is releasing a limited extension to GP1 called GP1X

it has 35 shades instead of 30, in smaller pans the same size as the Petit Fours palettes. 6 shades from GP1 were removed, and 11 new shades were added
