Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

@CynthieLu  What I immediately thought of:

Top to bottom: Retro, Roxa, and Love palettes by Natasha Denona.Top to bottom: Retro, Roxa, and Love palettes by Natasha Denona.

I don’t have Love or Retro (because I have Lila), but I’ve been tempted by Retro. I imagine folks will swatch-compare Roxa and Love which seem closer than Roxa and Retro. And even though Roxa’s full of pinks, they’re more purple/plum-leaning—which is why I’m so interested in that palette. Very interested to see swatches and formulas used.

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

That's a really good comparison shot, retro almost looses it purple hue's in line with those two. @WinglessOne thank you for finding and posting that!

I thought of love and sunrise when I first saw this palette's inside peak. Sunrise only has a couple of purple's in it but the bright colors had my mind to you those two.  💜

I hope we get those swatches soon. I'm very curious as well. 🙂

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

@CynthieLu  You know, I don’t use Sunrise very often for some reason. I like that palette but apparently I like my other NDs a bit more? Sheesh, I should devote a couple weeks to using Sunrise exclusively. (Note to self.)

That comparison image is just a quick collage I made of those 3 palettes, using brand photos of each palette. 😉 My very first reaction to Roxa was “that is Love 2.0.” Followed by “eh, maybe a little Retro too… Love and Retro’s baby.” So I grabbed photos of all 3 palettes and decided to compare ‘em. Roxa and Love look even more similar when I crop out each palette’s case color and digitally alter Roxa’s pan holder from purple to black, bringing visual focus to just the pan colors:

Top to bottom: Retro, Roxa, and Love palettes.Top to bottom: Retro, Roxa, and Love palettes.

Even before I see swatches and formula descriptions for the new palette, I like Roxa better than Love. Roxa seems cooler toned than Love and contains no gold. I’m happy to see Natasha release something like this (even though it’s pink) after I Need a Warm and Golden. 👍

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

I think that Roxa is much more appealing than Love as well, @WinglessOne .  I own Retro but I could justify adding Roxa to my collection; they look different enough to me and I appreciate that she broke up the pink-ness of Roxa with a couple of complimentary berries and purples.  Not sure how I'll feel about that marble shade, though--I know that it looks cool in the pan but I rarely actually appreciate how those types of shades look when they're swatched out.

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

@WinglessOne you made the photo? that's so neat! 🤩

It is very handy when thinking mentally about comparing them to have this image in this presentation. Thank you again! 💜💜

I don't need another palette but if this was sold in Canada I think I'd be seriously considering getting it, or trying very hard to resist picking it up is more accurate, lol. 🤗

I've yet to order from ND direct. That's a mountain and hurdle I haven't tried yet.

@CookieGirl1 it's interesting that you mentioned the mixed pan, I've never been thrilled with those kinds either. But never one from ND that I can remember. 🤔

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

@CynthieLu it sucks that you can't readily get ND in Canada anymore 😕.

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

@CynthieLu @CookieGirl1  Marbled eyeshadows are so hit or miss. I mean sure, you can theoretically customize how much of each color is used on your lid. That’s how some of us deal with Hourglass AL marbled blushes that contain less blush pigment than finishing powder. But an HG blush pan (aside from small quad pans) is bigger than an eyeshadow pan and thus easier to work with that way. Eh, we’ll see how this marbled shadow performs soon enough.

I can see owning Roxa and Retro; they’re definitely different enough. Roxa has a brighter/bolder color story, for starters. No shame in owning both!

And I do still wish Canadians had a local source for Natasha Denona stuff. I’ve ordered direct from ND several times with no issues, aside from that one time shipping took forever (it was during one of her site crashes). The only time I’ve received a broken ND palette, it was shipped from Sephora—and it was a mini palette, so it wasn’t padded like the larger ND palettes usually are.

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

Your ND experience is really reassuring @WinglessOne there was a statement I read on one of ND's pages for international shipping, that they take no responsibility for damages during shipping, and that really scared me off. 😨

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

@CynthieLu that's pretty crummy of them to not help cover that responsibility 😠.

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

@CynthieLu  I just checked ND’s “Shipping, Return, & Refund Policy” and “FAQs” pages. The Shipping/Return/Refund Policy page says: “The company is not responsible for damage, defects, or loss occurring to products delivered to forwarding or parcel forwarding companies. Orders addressed to forwarding companies are placed at your own risk. They’re specifically talking about [freight] forwarding companies; that’s not the same as international shipping. ND uses Global-E Express for international orders, and I don’t think they act as a forwarding company (at least not in this scenario). For Canadian orders, Global-E Express should handle a package all the way from ND to a Canadian customer. I don’t think they hand packages off to a different shipping company somewhere along the way.

ND does say international orders aren’t eligible for returns. 😒 (I hate it when retailers won’t accept returns within a reasonable timeframe. Boo hiss!) But if your order arrives damaged, you might still have some recourse: the FAQ page says: “If any of the item(s) in your shipment are broken, please retain the box and packing materials and email us at wecare [at] natashadenona [dot] com with your order number and photos of the damage. Photos should include the front and back of the item, if applicable. Reports of damaged items must be received within one week of the delivery date. Please note that we are not responsible for damages that occur after delivery.” Since there’s no statement in there about domestic (US) vs. international orders, I assume that applies to Canadian orders as well as US orders. They don’t explain what they’ll do about the damage though. 😒😒 You might wanna ask them directly about that, if you decide to order from them.

Hope some of that further helps! I know how nerve wracking it can be to order internationally and risk damage, or package loss—or in Americans’ case, the dreaded US Customs inspection where Customs intercepts & opens your package and may or may not replace all items therein before resealing it with The Green Tape of Despair (that’s what I call their lime green resealing tape) and releasing it on its journey to you. 😒😒🤬 ANYWAY, I do hope you can get the Roxa palette (should you decide you really want it) one way or another!

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

Ooh @WinglessOne that is really helpful. I thought it was a cruel statement about damages to just deny any and all responsibility. That's a little easier to digest. Thank you. 🙏🙏 I needed that legal wording explained. Thank you so much!

Roxa has caught my eye and I'll be interested to see IRL swatches and thoughts as people get thier hands on it. 🌠💜

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

@WinglessOne @CynthieLu @CookieGirl1 I feel the same about the marbled shades. They always feel a little gimmicky to me. I don't own Love but have Retro and Lila. I don't need this one since I don't reach for those often but I might buy it just because I love to have ND's eyeshadow repertoir to make my own palettes.

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

@makeitup305  Eh, I think Roxa’s different enough from Lila to justify picking it up, especially with all the newer formulas. Not to enable you or anything, of course.

Now I’m wondering if we’ll see a Mini Roxa at some point, or some other mini holiday palette.

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

@WinglessOne I'm pretty sure that she's at least trademarked a Mini Roxa but obviously that doesn't mean that it'll actually come to fruition.

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

@WinglessOne I don't need much to enable my ND purchases lol

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

@CynthieLu I was hoping for @SportyGirly125 theory of "I need a cool!"

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

Maybe next year 🤷🏽‍♀️🤞🏽 @greeneyedgirl107   Last year it was Yucca, INAN, Xenon.  This year it was Golden, INAW, Roxa.

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

@danielledanielle oh!  I see!

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

Pure speculation, but completely possible 🤞🏽🤞🏽 @greeneyedgirl107

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

That would have been neat! @greeneyedgirl107

I felt like I need a nude was a pretty cool toned palette, and then the warm palette was like her warm toned companion. This purple release took me by surprise. I honestly didn't know what to expect from this one. I'm pleasantly surprised. 💜 What color story would you have wanted in your dream cool palette?

Re: THE NATASHA DENONA THREAD

@danielledanielle @CynthieLu @greeneyedgirl107 I thought it was going to be INA cool , too. Next year probably, then. I'm very surprised she's going against the trend of eyeshadow palettes and released 3 midis (her new full size) plus a few 3-5 pans.
