I couldn't figure out why I pictured Gene Wilder when I saw the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory palette.  That's because I was 7 years old (in 1971) when I saw the original, which was called Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (Gene Wilder was Willie Wonka).
