If you are a fan obsessed or just a beauty lover curious about Diptyque, come on over! I thought this would be a fun place to share your thoughts, collections, decorating ideas, questions about the fabulous world of Diptyque.
I started out with one candle, the Beverly Hills candle-which is so fabulous-I'll post a picture of it tomorrow-thinking I was crazy to buy a $70 candle. Yes, it's crazy-crazy good! I've since collected 2 or 3 more and purchased a perfume. This week I got my first body care item, the satin body oil. I really love everything from Diptyque.
So let's discuss 🙂 One question I have is how do you get the inside cleaned out so you can use the jars for pretty collections like I see a lot of on social media?
I was just smelling my Rosaviola and occurred to me that with the violets, it smells a lot like Guerlain Meteorites-if there was a rose version of Meteorites, that would be it! Anyone else get that?
I ordered the full sized candle based on your comparison to Meteorites. I just opened the box and I am IN LOVE. This scent is absolutely beautiful. I definitely get the Meteorites comparison. I am seriously considering stocking up on this scent, but I better at least start burning it before I spend the money.
That's so fabulous! I would feel terrible if I recommended it and you didn't like it. But the more I smell, the more I feel it is Meteorites and rosebuds in a candle! In fact since you mentioned it-I'm going to light mine tonight during the super bowl. Gotta have something nice burning in my lady cave 😉
Okay, now I want this! I love the scent of the meteorites.
I honestly don't get leather in Rosaviola. It smells like a light sweet rose to me. The lipstick description I could liken it to how Chanel powders smell a bit?
Ooh your post and pics just made me realize I can use my marbled black and white Redoute candle jar for beauty brushes when the candle runs out... now I can almost justify getting another $85 candle!
What's a good first one to try? I keep seeing these mentioned and want to try it out. Or do you just go to the store and smell them all. lol
I don't have a Diptqye within 5 hours of me so I can't smell them in-person. I emailed AnneMCC's rep at Nordstrom and she said Baies is definitely the most popular. Here's what she said about other scents:
Do you like heavy florals, such as gardenia, jasmine and tuberose? If so, those are good for you. If you like light, fresh florals (I do) you’d love Roses, Mimosa and Geranium Rosa. I think you’d also like the limited edition of Rosaviola. It’s floral and pretty delicious. Noisetier is hazelnut—a gentle, somewhat sweet scent. Oud is musky but probably too woody. Figeur is very green, but some people think it smells like coconut. Pomander is a wonderful winter candle—it smells like oranges, cinnamon, nutmeg. Verveine is lemon verbena and is lovely, especially when you like citrus. Orangier smells like a creamsicle!
Ok candle lovers. What are your fav combos? Right now I am doing Vanille and Noisette. It is amazing, warm and perfect for winter.
I also love Guerlain candles, but that is for another thread!
Any combos to share? I love to layer 2 or 3. 🙂
Oh I never thought of burning 2 at a time, what a fabulous idea. And the Guerlain candles-I have seen those, they look beautiful. I'm sure they are amazing..
Try Amber+Wood fire+Cypress. So good!
Does anyone have any ideas for how to reuse the GWP size candles? I can't think of anything that would fit in there.
hair ties, pens, paperclips, buttons, nail files and clippers, jewelry, safety pins, keys, tiny flowers lol, skittles
Those are good ideas. I don't use perfume but I could definitely keep rings in it by the sink or maybe I can use it for other samples. I will experiment.
