Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

If you are a fan obsessed or just a beauty lover curious about Diptyque, come on over! I thought this would be a fun place to share your thoughts, collections, decorating ideas, questions about the fabulous world of Diptyque.

I started out with one candle, the Beverly Hills candle-which is so fabulous-I'll post a picture of it tomorrow-thinking I was crazy to buy a $70 candle. Yes, it's crazy-crazy good! I've since collected 2 or 3 more and purchased a perfume. This week I got my first body care item, the satin body oil. I really love everything from Diptyque.

So let's discuss 🙂 One question I have is how do you get the inside cleaned out so you can use the jars for pretty collections like I see a lot of on social media?

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

hi y'all,

Thank you so much for all the good tips on Diptyqye for a newbie like me. Now I have another question- since I believe the Advent Calendar is going to be 500$ or so Canadian, I am thinking it might be a bit too steep for me, even with my gift card from Saks.

(Saks Canada-specific questions)

I know a lot of you have the scoop on upcoming items etc through your Saks Canada SAs, so I was wondering: instead of the Advent Calendar, are there any other sets that are coming out for holiday that will give me a good sampling of items that you would recommend that I could get? I am thinking of candles as well as body care but would settle for just candles to start with.

If I have to, I might just get this, the boxed set of 3 votive candles currently on the Saks website, plus the Oud candle:

Diptyque - Boxed Set of 3 Votive Candles/7.2 oz.

Also, I believe my gift card from the recent Gift Card event from Saks can be used up until Dec 1, so is it a good idea to wait till Black Friday to get whatever I am going to get in order to get a good GWP?

Thanks so much in advance!

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

@Smeegle i posted the Saks set pic in Canadian deals thread couple of pages back. Those are specific to Saks Eaton and sherway and I got the info from my saks SA.

There is also a art of body care set i had bought from nordies probably you can check if saks has it.

P.S. The next gc event is Nov 18/19. My saks SA just told me today but no info on buy in yet. If you ask your SA they can tell you if there is a gwp that coincides with egc event. And the holiday stuff is expected around 1st or 2nd week of November.

Rubbing hands together for Saks GC event!

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

p.s. @dioradict Ah, I did see that pic you posted initially because I commented on the price of the Advent Calendar, LOL..I didn't realize those sets were for Eaton Centre too, though. Fab. Some food for thought! Are you going to get the Advent Calendar or will you pass on it?

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

@Smeegle i got the details from my SA at sherway as Eaton doesn't have free shipping. I am stI'll debating on the calendar and Nordies have an event this weekend,if I don't do much damage then probably I may get it. I also want all the holiday candles in 190g size and 70g. I got 70g last year and had to hunt down 190g Sapin after I liked it too much lol. This year ones are more interesting to me.

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

@dioradict oh wow, that sounds like a great list! those holiday candles sound great! I'm eyeing those as well!

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

@dioradict Thank you so much, dear! You're always so helpful and patient. I will look for those pics on the Saks sets. My new SA didn't have any knowledge of a flyer for the holiday sets so I will be glad to take a look at them. 🙂

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

No problem.I will update the canada deals thread as soon  as I know I get more details about gc event. My saks SA told me that the book was for beauty dept and he sent me pics from the catalog pics so I can make my list 🙂

Nordies get different sets and this year holiday candles are nicer I guess.

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

Thank you my dear! Any idea what you might splash out on this year?

@lachaton

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

Probably just the mini holiday candles for me 🙂 I've had a couple other candle sets so I've tried most of he one so included in these sets.

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

ooh, any idea of the price for the 3 holiday candle votive set? the pic just shows the set, but i don't see a price?

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

@Smeegle - I am guessing it will be around 135-145 range before tax for the set.

Last year the individual holiday candles were $42 each and $125 for the 3 piece set.

But this year the holiday candle minis are around $48 each, so its my guess. The pricing my Diptyque SA at nordies had were all in USD, I will try to find out about the holiday pricing if I see her this weekend 🙂

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

fab! thanks dear! I have a feeling that you're right about that price range..argh i don't know whether to go for the calendar or not!

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

If you get the calendar it has only one of the 3 holiday candles(random) inside, if that helps 😉 last year I went back to get the 190g Sapin and had to track down from other store through my Calgary SA to get it as these ones sell faster and we get limited quantities.

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

those holiday candles are very tempting!!

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

the holiday candles are online at nordstrom. I am planning to get all 3. any thoughts?

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

this year's box and candles look gorgeous! I still haven't used up last year's yet.

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

Are you getting the votive set of three or individuals? I have to take a look. They have the fragrance gift right now too!

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

I went ahead and ordered the 3 individual ones. They should be here by the end of the week and I got the fragrance gift too!

Re: Discussion for the Diptyque Crowd (please join!)

How do all you ladies think the Henri Bendel candles compare to Diptyque?

I love burning Roses and Baies together. I bought and am currently trying Roses and Blackcurrant from Henri Bendel to see if they compare, since they are much cheaper!

I am also considering buying 34 and Verveine, hmmm.
