Hi! I have somewhat thick, wavy hair that doesnโ€™t really have a lot of issues. Im having trouble deciding between hair oils because sometimes throughout the day my hair can get frizzy or dry. Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Frizz Reduction & Heat Protection Hair Oil  Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil  OUAI Mini Hair Oil 0.45 oz/ 13 mL

which one should i get?

Re: What hair oil should i get?

@jdhdhdh I struggle with frizzy hair in a humid climate and I actually love and use Verb Ghost Weightless Oil to Fight Frizz and Enhance Shine 2 oz/ 60 mL  on my hair. Itโ€™s the only hair oil Iโ€™ve found that doesnโ€™t weigh down my hair or make it feel greasy.

Re: What hair oil should i get?

@jdhdhdh i'd definitely suggest the Gisou for you! the olaplex is nice, but it's designed more for people with damaged hair in need of repair. i made the mistake of using olaplex product when i didnt need them, and ended up adding too much protein into my hair (which made it super dry). the gisou is a great all-around product, and comes very highly recommended in the BIC. plus, the scent is really nice.

another staple thats been around for a while is the Moroccanoil Moroccanoil Treatment Hair Oil  , which also comes in the light formulation Moroccanoil Moroccanoil Treatment Light Hair Oil for Fine Hair  , if you find hair oils are making your hair a little too heavy or greasy.

@cianni @jdhdhdh

Actually Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Frizz Reduction & Heat Protection Hair Oil   doesnt contain any protein. The only Olaplex products that contain a very minuscule amount of protein are No.4 and No.5, which are vegetable protein and certainly not enough to cause any damage.
@jdhdhdh between the two you are asking about, I would go with Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Frizz Reduction & Heat Protection Hair Oil  . It has a host of benefits from UV protection, heat protection (when applied on damp hair), weightless, increases shine, softness etc.

Re: What hair oil should i get?

@GG84 i'm going to have to have a chat with my hairdresser... she told me the olaplex 3 dried my hair out because i was adding too much protein when i didn't need it๐Ÿค” it definitely was the culprit, but maybe it was something else in there that my hair didnt agree with

Re: What hair oil should i get?

@cianni

No.3 can totally be used incorrectly. It doesnโ€™t contain moisture or protein, only the active patented ingredient (among other ingredients needed to create a creamy consistency). The idea with No.3 is to use as a pre-wash โ€œtreatmentโ€, it must be shampoo and conditioned out. Being that it does not contain any ingredients for the shaft of the hair (it targets the bonds INSIDE the hair), in salon when selling Olaplex we always suggest using a mask after using Olaplex No.3.

Re: What hair oil should i get?

@GG84 okay that makes more sense - i was using it like a mask (post wash, in lieu of conditioner)
