Unscented/Frangrance Free Hair Oil Recommendations Needed!

Hello Lovely BIC!

I am in need of your advice/recommendations for a good hair oil that is unscented/fragrance free.  I am visiting my mom next month for a week and she is highly allergic to scents and fragrance.....to the point where it can prevent her from being able to breath.  Though my hair doesn't love it, I can get away with using her shampoo & conditioner, but my hair desperately needs an oil.  She would never be able to tolerate either of the products I normally use  Bumble and bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Frizz Reducing Hair Oil 3.4 oz/ 100 mL &  ALTERNA Haircare Bamboo Smooth Kendi Oil Dry Oil Mist 4.2 oz/ 125 mL , so can someone please offer some suggestions?  Thank you!!  🙂

I like coconut oil. the unrefined kind smells like coconut (which I love), but the refined kind doesn't. I also wash my hair with baking soda. you might try that, since it doesn't have a smell of course, and probably wouldn't need as much oil since it's better for your hair. 😉

@mrsmouse  yay! 🙂 I love it bc I have long straight hair that gets greasy, so it's great and of course really cheap, plus there's hardly any packaging! and it also saves space in your shower/bathroom!

Hey! Yes I was going to recommend argan oil or unscented almond oil. You can get Rusk Being Sexy Argan Oil Serum and an unscented pure almond oil at the drugstore. You can get Rusk oil for around $13 and the almond oil for around $7. Hope this helps!

I love the KIEHL'S SINCE 1851 - Silk Groom™ Serum. There isn't any scent to it and it is not to heavy on the hair at all!

@mrsmouse The Ordinary offers a cold Pressed Marula oil as well as squalane which are good for hair and skin.

@mrsmouse   It' true; most hair products are scented, and it can get to be too much, even if you don't have allergies.

One of the recommendations Biossance has for their 100% Squalane Oil is to add shine and tame flyaways, split ends, and frizz in hair.

Thank you so much @Ispend2much6 ! I love your user name, btw!  I have actually been curious about the Biossance Squalane oil for my body, so that might be the way to go.  I think I'll swing by a Sephora store this weekend and grab a sample.  Thanks again!!

@mrsmouse   You're welcome!  Biossance has some great products.  Some suggestions I've learned on hear on how to use it is for the skin all around the eyes, including the eyelids if needed, for your cuticles, and I wonder about using it as part of a homemade lip scrub combined with sugar or just a type of lip moisturizer.

Now, as far as names go, how did you choose yours?  Mice scare me!

Those are all really great suggestions @Ispend2much6 !  I currently use  KORA Organics Noni Glow Radiant Eye Oil .34 oz / 10 mL  around my eyes and absolutely love it, but the rest of my skin (arms, legs, etc) need some additional TLC.  I think adding the Biossance may help.  My username came from a love of Mickey Mouse that started when I was two years old.  I actually even have a pic from a few years ago of him proposing....it's totally cute.  😉

Have you tried oils like argan or sweet almond?

JOSIE MARAN - 100 percent Pure Argan Oil should work well, and you would be able to find it at a Sephora easily. My favorite hair oil, since it feels a bit lighter, is sweet almond oil. I get it in the health food section of my grocery store, and it’s relatively inexpensive for a large bottle.

Thank you so much, @skcfan !  I don't know why I didn't think of this.  I actually have a small bottle JOSIE MARAN - 100 percent Pure Argan Oil Light at home.  Though I do think the regular version would be better for hair though.  Thank you for the recommendation!!
