Straightening hair brush. Amika or Drybar?

Looking to buy a straightening brush. Aside from the price, is there any difference between these two brands? I’m also open to a non Sephora carried brand if another brush stands out better. I have long hair that is slightly wavy. I’m to lazy (lol!) to always use a flat iron. Not looking for the results necessarily of a flat iron, just something that is good quality, good for thick hair. Thank you!

RE: Straightening hair brush. Amika or Drybar?

I recently ordered the full-size Drybar Brush Crush. I was pretty happy with the results, but I couldn’t keep from changing the heat settings and/or turning it off. Really bad placement of controls on the handle. Anyone else have that problem? Anyone have a fix?

@amyrs1 haven't tried straightening brush, but maybe a straightening cream that's meant to be used with a blow dryer will save time.

Bumble and bumble Straight Blow Dry Styling Cream 5 oz/ 150 mL

There's a handful of other products from B&B with  'blow' in the name: All Style Blow Dry, Don't Blow It Thick (H)air Style

@amyrs1 I haven’t tried the amika brush but I have the Drybar one and I love it. It is so easy to use.

@amyrs1 don't have a preference between the two ( I have the amika haven't tried the other one) just wanted to kind of give you a warning. I have long thick hair ( although curlier than yours) and this isn't going to be a significant time saver or really less hassle than your flat iron. You still will have to section off your hair and pull it through the brush because only the base gets hot. If you try to just "brush" your hair it won't give results.

RE: Re: Straightening hair brush. Amika or Drybar?

Hmm. Interesting. I was sort of looking for something that tames my hair somewhat without having to go through the hassle of a flat iron. Sectioning hair, putting clips in etc. I am prepared for the results not being the same although it sounds like it might not be a huge time save at all. Thanks for the input, it’s something to consider
