Olaplex?

Hi! I recently purchased Olaplex No. 3 (treatment) No. 4 (shampoo) and No. 5 (conditioner). Has anyone that has used these have an opinion or tips? Did it help bring your hair back from the dead? I’ve been getting salon highlights for years (being blonde is hard sometimes 😞) and although my hair isn’t fried it’s pretty dry. I heard good things about Olaplex and thought I’d give it a try. After my first use I was a little let down. Although I may need to just stick with it. So I’d like to hear your thoughts on these!

Re: Olaplex?

Hi Niomi!
Here are some helpful tips to bouncing hair back to life!

* Apply No.3 on clean, damp hair. If hair has any product or oil build up, shampoo first then towel dry. If hair is clean you can simply rinse.

* Generously saturate from roots to ends ( a little more than you would conditioner)

* Let process for a minimum of 10 minutes. The longer it is left on the more effective! There is no protein in No.3 Bond Perfector so you can not overuse it. Some people will braid their hair with it in and go about their day!

* Shampoo and conditioner after!

*OLAPLEX NO. 5 Condition stays on a minimum of 3 minutes. Leave on 5-10 for deep conditioning benefits!
*Sleeping with a satin or silk pillowcase is gentler on hair preventing mechanical damage from friction.

Re: Olaplex?

Hi @Na0miRose

Olaplex 3-5 are at a concentration of less then 50% strength of the professional salon only treatment. If you purchased at Sephora, I would return and find a salon that offers the Olaplex Professional Trearment and see how you feel about your hair after.

RE: Re: Olaplex?

I’ve been going to the same hairdresser for years. She uses Brazilian Bond Builder, but I read it’s just not the same because Olaplex uses one key ingredient that is patented. I would really like to try steps 1 and 2, so idk I love my hairdresser but maybe it’s time to move on

Re: RE: Re: Olaplex?

@Na0miRose *Transparency* I do distribute Olaplex - NOT to Sephora. You are right - Olaplex has a patent on BDGD (the abbreviate version). Other bond builders can only repair Sulphur and Hydrogen bonds - but so can water. Olaplex is the only product that can repair Disulfide bonds. There is an Olaplex salon finder on the app or you can google "salons that use Olaplex near me"

Re: RE: Re: Olaplex?

Can I get the Olaplex No. 1 & 2 treatment by itself at a salon? or does it have to be added into bleach?
