LONG + THICK HAIR RECOMENDATIONS?

Hey everyone, so I've always had thick hair, never knew how to tame it or what to do with it, especially when it was shorter. It's down to my waist now. It's wavy, thick and long but IMPOSSIBLE to work with. Salons always charge me double because of how much product they have to use. It's Summer now and I JUST CANT DEAL WITH IT. It's always in a bun, and when I do straighten it, the humidity just makes it wavy. Not to mention, it takes me almost 2 hours to straighten it. Does anyone know what I can do? My biggest issue is that it gets sooo tangly I literally have to cut hair ties out of my hair. THANK YOU ALL!
