I dyed my hair and now it's very dry and frizzy

I recently got my hair highlighted very strongly and now my hair is dry and frizzy do you guys have tricks or products that could help?

Re: I dyed my hair and now it's very dry and frizzy

@Elsa2004 Hi!  Moisturizing shampoos are a good start.  A lot of girls prefer sulfate free.  That didn't work for me, so I use John Frieda Beyond Smooth with Pure Coconut Oil.

A good conditioner is essential.  I am currently loving Matrix Hydrasource Conditioning Balm.  Other good ones are Neutrogena Triple Moisture (the one in the tub), Phytojoba and DevaCurl One Condition.

For styling, I like silicone serums.  Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum is excellent.  If you want silicone-free, I rec Phytdefrisant.  Many girls swear by It's a Ten Miracle Leave-In Product.

Hair oils are excellent.  You can apply them as a pre-shampoo treatment, in with your conditioner, with your serum, or (my favorite) on dry hair after styling.  I like Matrix Oil Wonder best.  But I also like Alterna Kendi Oil (both formulations) and Josie Maran Argan Oil.

Dry shampoo is a must-have.  It will help you wash you hair less, so that it is less damaged from washing and heat styling.  I like Klorane (nonaerosol) and Alterna.

Hair masks are also good.  My faves have been discontinued, so I don't have any recs for those.

Good luck!

RE: I dyed my hair and now it's very dry and frizzy

As the first reply said a very gentle shampoo and conditioner. Shea moisture and deva curl are really good. Deva curl is too much moisture for my hair so shea moisture is my #1 choice. Deep condition. 3 minute miracle is great and you can buy it at a drug store. Shea moistures grow and strengthen leave in conditioner is good as well when I need a boost. When styling your hair use a cream. My favorite is cantu curl activator. It just makes your hair look really good. Another one I like is the kenra #5 i think. It's a squirty cream bottle. But if you use too much your hair can look oily or it'll be too heavy. Ive tried other creams but those are the only two my hair agrees with. I put cream in when my hair is wet and scrunch it and some excess water comes out and then I use BounceCurl gel and scrunch that in and that's how I keep my hair moisturizer and frizz free. I have highlights as well and my hair used to be so damaged that it stretched when it was wet. You have to nurse it back to health and it takes a while.

First, I would invest in a good hair mask, and gentle shampoo and conditioner. Try to avoid washing your hair every day (unless you get dirty or sweaty or something, of course,) and deep condition once or twice a week. I would consider buying a silk pillowcase if you want because they don't make your hair frizzy compared to cotton ones. Finally, stay away from heat! Avoid hot tools, don't wash your hair in hot water. I always rinse my shampoo with warm water and then the final post conditioner rinse I go as cold as I can stand. good luck!
