Hair Oil - Ouai vs Verb

I’m looking at hair oils and interested in Ouai Hair Oil and also Verb Ghost Oil. I’ve tried the Moroccanoil and it seemed to be a little too heavy. Which do you think is best?

Re: Hair Oil - Ouai vs Verb

I have tried both, but I actually love DryBar's 100 Proof the best. The Verb was a great price but I did not repurchase because it did feel a little heavy. I liked the Ouai the least, as it was the most difficult to work through my strands (I have coarse, straight, thick hair).

Alternatively, have you considered a plain oil like argan oil, or marula oil for hair? The Ordinary has two fairly cheap oils. The argan works great, but smells a little funky (it dissipates right after application so it doesn't bother me). I can get over the smell of products as long as it doesn't linger, so it's no big deal to me.

Ditch em both.

As commented before verb ghost oil is heavy. Great price but not worth it.

I can't comment on Ouai's performance specifically, because I can't get passed the smell...so no.

But give Kevin Murphy's Shimmer Shine a go. The gold may seem like a bit much, but you really don't see it at all. It comes in a spray form so you don't have to worry about globbing a chunk of hair as you work it through your hair. Its great to use with damp hair before air or blow drying, or to define curls after styling, and my personal favourite to tame the little frizzers on the top of my head. Its seriously legit. and smells good too.

I haven't tried the Ouai, but Verb's Hair Oil is what I would consider 'heavy', a little goes a long way, so just use a small amount.  If you're looking for a light oil, maybe consider a dry oil formula.

Re: Hair Oil - Ouai vs Verb

I actually compared the Ouai Hair oil, the Ouai body/hair rose oil, and Verb Ghost Oil last Friday at Sephora.  I ended up purchasing the Ouai Hair Oil.

The ghost oil is very thick.  It weighed my hair down, and it just wasn't for me.  I think it would be good on just the ends of the hair and only on damaged hair.  I think it would be too oily on thin hair.

I was then comparing the 2 Ouai products, because the Hair oil is $28, and the body/hair oil is $34, but you get almost twice as much product in the latter product for only $6 more - better value.  HOWEVER - I tried both and the difference I observed was the regular hair oil has a more herbal, light floral scent and definitely provides a lot of shine.  The rose body/hair oil had a light rose scent and less shine to the hair.  I'd say they are similar in consistency:  light, thin oil that doesn't weigh down the hair.

I went with the regular hair oil because it just made my hair shine and made it look really healthy, and I prefer the scent, too.
