HELP with my Teenage son's hair!

Please, Please SOMEBODY HELP!!! TEENAGE SON EMERGENCY SITUATION!

I am looking for help with suggestions for hair care for my teenage son. I recently got him the Jack Black All Over and he LOVES it for shampoo and conditioner and it helped his combination skin - although he uses Origins on his face. He wears Versace EROS cologne, but uses Dove Men's Skincare for shaving. So, we are ALL OVER THE PLACE - NOT 100% BRAND LOYAL for him. What he likes, he likes. What works works. So I JUST NEED SOME HELP.

      For ME, I have hair 3/4 down my back and DRY skin (no worry about breakouts so I've used the same L'ANZA (a conditioner, but I use as a leave-in) and I use L'ANZA for shampoo and conditioning as well. To switch, I use Aveda. Just what I do, I found what worked for me, I'm VERY brand loyal, but a conditioner leave-in is NOT what works for my son. So, I'm TOTALLY OPEN in terms of brand recommendations for HIM (as long as they DO NOT SMELL VERY FEMININE!

    He's grown his hair longer in the front this year (we have to thin it considerably for him to do so it's past is eyes now and he's trying to grow it about down 1/2 of his face), and it's VERY Wavy/Curly. He's working his way through puberty and that's EXACTLY when my hair went from wavy to curly.

     I just need something to help him with control over his longer "mane" in the bangs area that's "touchable" as he runs his fingers through his hair all day and at the end of the day comes home with a 'fro. He's got LOTS of hair (thick) but the shaft of hair is thinner.

    He needs some control, but doesn't want a gel. He doesn't like the pomades we've tried but we've only tried the one's you can get at any Target (ex Redken), and they were too thick or difficult for him to get ahold of. The ONE PRODUCT HE LIKED was a REDKEN WAX that they no longer make, but it still doesn't QUITE do the job as he can only use 1 DIP OF HIS FINGER for his WHOLE MOP OF HAIR-- so it's IMPOSSIBLE for it (mixed with water in his hand, to cover all of his hair.)

      Like I said, he has REALLY wavy/Curly hair and needs a more little control without the crunchy-ness of gel, the wet-ness or heaviness of pomade, or the greasiness of leave in conditioner. We live in Texas, so in the summer, his hair can get greasy just from sweating all day in 95+ degree weather (from May-September it was JUST 95 THIS WEEK!)

     He's getting attention from the LADIES and needs help ASAP!

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY AND ALL ADVICE!!!!

@katmaness

Redken Brews (their line for men) which launched last year has a product called Get Groomed Finishing Cream which I think would be great for what you are asking for.

@katmaness  To help with definition and hold for wavy/curly hair, I really loveDEVACURL - WAVE MAKER™ Touchable Texture Whip. It helps define curls without weighing them down or adding any crunchiness or greasiness. It has a fresh, light fruit smell that isn't too feminine.

I like to work this into my wet, detangled hair and then scrunch the hair to help add definition. It air dries really nicely with this product, and is always left feeling soft and looking shiny and uniform.
