Dry dull hair

'I recently got highlights and my hair has been harder to style and super dry. No matter how much leave-in conditioner I use, my hair is always dry. Does anyone know any tricks or stying products?

Lightening the hair (highlights) blows the cuticle open, which is why you’re having a more difficult time styling. You need to use acid (low ph) products to seal the cuticles again.

@angie5090 can I ask what leave-in you’re using? 

I used to have my hair bleached and it really takes a toll. Some products that I love and have helped my hair quite a bit are the Olaplex No. 8 Bond Intense Moisture Damage Repair Hair Mask Treatment 3.3 oz/ 100 mL, I use this about once a week and my stylist uses it on my when I go in as well. It just works so well and leaves my hair feeling so soft, smooth, tamed, and moisturized without weighing it down. 

I also use the Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Frizz Reduction & Heat Protection Hair Oil daily, sometimes several times a day as I apply it prior to going out in the sun to help prevent it from sun damage and drying out in the sunny heat. 

I use a daily leave-in conditioner as well, I switch between the Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother Frizz Control Styling Hair Cream 3.3 oz/ 100 mL and the Surface Bassu Moisture Bond. They’re both excellent at keeping my hair soft, manageable, and moisturized.
