Color Fading and Changing

Hi! I am really struggling with my hair color right now, have a mix of balayage and highlights but I obviously cannot go to the salon to tone my hair so the shade is fading into a bit of a brassy color. This picture is how my hair looked like the last time I toned it. I would not mind/would actually prefer a darker tone right now. I was looking into semi-permanent color masks such as the CHRISTOPHE ROBIN - Shade Variation Mask - Warm Chestnut, and Moroccanoil Color Depositing Mask Platinum

However, I really do not want them to completely remove my highlights. If you guys have tried any of these or other products, what do you think of them and how they work with your highlights/balayage? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated as well 🙂

RE: Color Fading and Changing

Hi! Since you want to maintain and tone I recommend #dpHuegloss for 3-5 minutes on damp hair. I personally used black to match my natural root, but as you can tell by my photo I haven’t changed my highlight pattern or completely changed the color. DpHue has a good variety of colors from blonde to auburn to black. Stick to warmer tones to maintain as a blue or ash tone would darken your color and give you an (unwanted) green cast.

Re: Color Fading and Changing

@malerochat I have tried both and can confirm that they completely wash off. The Christophe Robin is less intense than the Moroccan Oil IMO. I love both.

I own Warm chestnut and used on my natural dark blonde hair when I wanted it a smidge darker. Lasts 4 washes or so. I used to leave the product on for half an hour (longer than recommended).

I have highlighted hair now and I use the rose gold from moroccan oil and it looks very beautiful. Specially after the second wash.

I am not a hair stylist, but if you are trying to go a bit darker and disguise brassy colors the Ash brown might be better than the warm chestnut?

With either of them strand testing is important so you know what to expect.

Don’t go with a more Ash tone, Hair dresser here. Ash will show a bit green. You need the warmth in the tones you selected.
