Amika straightening brush smoking?

Has anyone experienced their amika brush blowing smoke near the top? Like on the back where it looks like an open vent or something? I usually notice it if i put the heat at 390, but even at 370 I can see it. Is that normal? & the sound?

Amika has a pretty good warranty, I have a few tools from them. That doesn't sound normal to me.
