After Chemo Hair

Hair can be an emotional thing.

I used to have thick, shiny hair. I used cheap products and a lazy routine, but would still receive compliments.

After chemo in my 20s, my hair grew back straight, but everything else changed. It was dry, brittle, fine, graying, frizzy, there was less of it, and I had flyaways. Seeing my hair this way reminded me of my illness and the oral chemo I was still on til recently.

Flaxseed oil and biotin help, but only a small degree. Then I added jojoba oil after showering and started noticing a change.

The real game changer, however, was switching to Oribe Hair Alchemy Strengthening Shampoo  and Oribe Hair Alchemy Strengthening Conditioner.

My hair isn’t thick anymore, but has many of the characteristics it did before. It is shiny and soft, light and manageable. I even started using Oribe Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray 5.9 oz/ 175 mL and Oribe Superfine Hair Spray 9 oz/ 300mL.

For those undergoing drip chemo: Oribe products have a beautiful scent. You may want to hold off using them until you can handle scented products again.

Good luck on your own treatment, or to those who are undergoing cancer treatment in your life! You’ve got this!😊

Im glad you’re getting better!

I highly recommend using a silk bonnet when you sleep. They are game changers. They’re pretty cheap too, I’ve seen them at target

stay strong beautiful 🫶🏽

No, I don't.

Re: After Chemo Hair

@abstraktgirl, have you ever tried their mint-green formula?

Re: After Chemo Hair

How well do you think that would work for me?

Re: After Chemo Hair

No I haven’t. Do you have personal experience with post chemo hair?
