Sooooo... How did it go? The Beauty Studio Service Thread

I recently got my lashes done at a Sephora and it was suuuuuch a good experience that I will go back, get lashes again, just to chit chat with the associates there.

I narrowed it down to two choices:

Velour Lashes Effortless - No Trim - Natural Lash Collection Understated(I think)

SEPHORA COLLECTION Vegan False Eyelashes Charming   (obvs winner) ... Way nice and way nice price😁😉

They stayed and slayed. This was a four hour wear. It's $15 USD for the service + cost of lashes.  The SC lashes are very adorable, affordable and as my Syane (shout-out to Sephora Meatpacking) said, "they eatttt"

I highly encourage getting lashes, especially if you struggle with them.  I described what I wanted, and got tips and tricks that allowed me to do this on my own.

What I learned

  1. Tapered out shape for almond shaped eyes gives you all the drama without overwhelming your eye
  2. Cut the outside, not the inside so you don't ruin your lashes if you're new to this or just find it challenging
  3. Look down when applying , which seems intuitive, but 9/10 I go straight and straight into the mirror.  Having a mirror and looking down gives me a higher success rate.

Also, I got in store goodies!

@danielledanielle that tuned out looking so good!  Had you ever had it done before?

Re: Sooooo... How did it go? The Beauty Studio Service Thread

Thank you! That was the fabulous Syane that did my lashes.  And yes, @CookieGirl1 I've had it before.   It was prepandemic, so it's been awhile.  It was when they had # lash stories 🥲

I believe it was these...ahhh lash stories.

(x-post from the Sephoria thread)

I also got a Perk Lip treatment at SEPHORiA, it was my first one. It felt very hydrating and plumping and was a lovely treat in a hectic day!  They also give you the full Perk lip serum at the end, which was a pleasant surprise and I’ve been using it frequently.

Re: Sooooo... How did it go? The Beauty Studio Service Thread

@sister13   I took photos of lots of people getting treatments while I lazed on the pink fluffy chairs.  Now I’m regretting not peeling myself outta my comfy place and getting a treatment done.  It seemed like so much effort at the time. 😅

Would it be something you’d go into store for again?

Re: Sooooo... How did it go? The Beauty Studio Service Thread

I did this on the morning session Saturday, there was a station out on the main floor over by Kerastase and there was no line so we went for it. I would do it again in store or as add on if I was doing the PERK facial. My lips definitely felt smooth and plumped but I didn’t take very good notice of how long it lasted! @heartsmyface @danielledanielle

And if they do it again next year at SEPHORiA (which I would recommend they do!) I would definitely make a point to get it again!

Re: Sooooo... How did it go? The Beauty Studio Service Thread

@heartsmyface, same FOMO vibes and same question @sister13

Re: Sooooo... How did it go? The Beauty Studio Service Thread

@danielledanielle  The red eye in really messed me up!! They would have had to come to me.

Re: Sooooo... How did it go? The Beauty Studio Service Thread

You look awesome, @danielledanielle ! 🤩  I didn't know Sephora did lash application.

Re: Sooooo... How did it go? The Beauty Studio Service Thread

Glad to inform! @Titian06 , It was  (and remains) a part of a full face makeover, where you purchase the lashes and they apply it for free.  I don't recall when it officially became a separate service, but when it did it was one of those Day To Evening Makeup 💄 maneuvers I would occasionally take advantage of.

Re: Sooooo... How did it go? The Beauty Studio Service Thread

Thank you ❤️❤️

Re: Sooooo... How did it go? The Beauty Studio Service Thread

@danielledanielle Wow! Your lashes look amazing. I did not know this service was offered! The tips you mentioned are great! Sometimes I cut lashes in half (the ones that are not tapered) and apply on the outer portion of my lid. I like how you shared to cut the outer portion of the tapered lash. Sometimes I find they look too long on my lashes so I will try that next time. Also I didnt think to look down. I can't wait to see how my lashes turn out with these techniques!

I did try the Hydrafacial lip perk at SEPHORiA. It was my first time trying a treatment like this. I think it would be a fun treatment before  night out. I would just have to set aside time to do it.

I am looking forward to trying more services in the future! I will report back.

Re: Sooooo... How did it go? The Beauty Studio Service Thread

@danielledanielle  great idea for a thread! I'm so glad you had such a great experience getting your lashes done! I am planning to schedule a service at my local Sephora for the BI challenge bonus points, but haven't decided what to get done yet 😅

@caitbird, 👍🏽👍🏽! Hope this informs and feel free to post feedback when you decide!

If anyone wants to check out my experience on the hydra facial you can find the link here

Sephora Hydrafacial face and lip treatment experience

By the end of the treatments I could feel my skin more hydrated and glowy. My lips were a little more plump.

All in all I really enjoyed my experience.  I didn’t really know what to expect but was feeling more comfortable that the station was more towards the back instead of the front where all the traffic was. I had a few people stop and see what was going on but it didn’t bother me.

Final note, you are allowed to tip for the service at the end when you check out.  I was given samples before I left. Also, they do use the sample testers out on your face but with a spatula. You don’t know if people have put their fingers in it so that was the only thing I was worried about. Luckily nothing happened to me but just wanted to put that out there since we know the testers can be contaminated.
