Hey all you cool cats and kittens, welcome to YEAR 6 of the Pan It Challenge!
The "Rules"
To accommodate a variety of interests, you all are encouraged to pick items to pan that are most suitable to your collections. For some, this might mean focusing on a particular type of product (like lipstick) and for others this may include a larger variety spanning your entire makeup or skincare routine.
Getting Started (please share the following)

Tips and Tricks to Panning/Getting Some Use Out of Your Stash:
Ideas to Help You Pan Those Items:
Past Panning Challenges:
@heavyhedon Oh my despite feeling sick you made decent dents in your panning!😀. Good to hear you are on the mend 🌹
@Cissy63 -- TY so much, & yes, I'm feeling almost normal, knock on wood.
@heavyhedon great progress! there is something so satisfying about seeing a lipstick that is starting to get some use!
So true! @cianni , and I want to make sure I use this one to death b/c it's a real treasure.
@heavyhedon Way to go on your panning! Great work, and the start of the year has you off to an amazing run 😄🥳
Make up takes such patience to work through and you have made a ton of progress 🎆 💗
TY @CynthieLu -- definitely feels like a well-spent month, makeup-wise. Now I have to choose Feb.'s items.
Whoa @heavyhedon! 😳 That pencil eyeliner is a shell of what it was!!! You are owning it! Awesome job all around but especially with that beauty! 🙌🏼
@itsfi -- thanks! I probably could have finished it if I'd worn makeup every single day.
Excited to see everyone's panning efforts for the first month of the year!
@itsfi the WA lip palette would be perfect for post lunch. Every time I see Biba I think Monroe would be great as a one and done.
Oooh, that’s a brilliant idea @missjeanie! 😍 I think I will give that a go this month. Maybe add an eyeliner if I’m feeling fancy or extra … or extra fancy. 🤣
@itsfi Man those hold out shades!! Fabulous work!! I love watching your progress so much.
I know @Samtian! They just keep hanging on! It's like they're taunting me - "neener, neener, neener!" 😂🤣😂 Challenge accepted, I say!!! 😅
@itsfi that's serious will power!!! I'm so impressed with how many shades you've hit pan on
@lmaster, thank you. This is year 4 with this eyeshadow palette. Project Pan with Biba started less about trying to use what I have or test how long it actually takes to use up a producct than it did as way to have a consistent routine during the lockdown. I probably wore makeup more regularly on the daily then than any other time - something about Zoom calls enabled that. 😂 This thread helps to keep me motivated and accountable to sticking with it, and in turn, I buy eyeshadow palettes with a lot less frequency than before. I think my wallet should thank me for it, but I find other things to pick up that makes that "thankfulness" null and void. 😅
@itsfi this is great progress! tusk definitely has a dent in it, and i love that BB palette, i think they'll pair beautifully! making the transition to makeup everyday is the hardest part.
this is going to sound like a crazy question, but how do you apply product on your brush? your pans always seem to start in that top left corner, and mine are always dead centre. are we using brushes differently? are you left handed? it kind of reminds me of how you can tell who owns a lipstick based on the way the bullet is shaped after it's been used!
Thank you @cianni! That is not a crazy question at all. My starting in the upper left corner is admittedly not the norm (and for BB Jadestone, I'll *probably* pick up product from the middle of each shadow pan. 😀 Around the time I started with the ND Biba palette, I was playing around with my other shadows with how they looked when applied wet versus when applied dry, whether as a shadow or a liner. Whenever I'd try the shadow after wetting my brush, I'd go into the shadow in the corner. At the time, it sorta bothered me a little that I'd have a (probalby only noticeable to me) dent in the corner and in the middle - that's a bit weird, I know. So with Biba, I thought, okay, try the shadow first as a liner in the corner which I did but then it ended up that I just kept picking up product from the upper left corner of each shadow. 😂 After a couple of shadows like that, I just thought, well, it would look odd if I started another shadow in this palette in the center ... so then every shadow in this palette has started out in the upper left corner. Ha!
