Hey all you cool cats and kittens, welcome to YEAR 6 of the Pan It Challenge!

The "Rules"

To accommodate a variety of interests, you all are encouraged to pick items to pan that are most suitable to your collections.  For some, this might mean focusing on a particular type of product (like lipstick) and for others this may include a larger variety spanning your entire makeup or skincare routine.

Getting Started (please share the following)

• Which item(s) you would like to work on
• How long you will work on said item
• Goal: explore a new item, revisit an old item, decide whether to keep pass or trash, and/or completely finish item, etc.
• Starting photo of item

Please Use This Thread To...

• share what item(s) you are working on,
• provide comparative progress photos of your item(s) monthly (at the beginning of the month when possible),
• ask questions,
• encourage others,
• motivate others with the looks you create with your item(s)

Tips and Tricks to Panning/Getting Some Use Out of Your Stash:

• Take photos!!  When you think you aren’t making a dent in anything look back at those photos, I’m certain you’ll see some changes 😃 *this is the number one recommendation for everyone, regardless of how long you’ve been panning! Those photos add up and can help you realize progress you might otherwise overlook.
• If you goal is to hit pan or use something up entirely, try concentrating your brush/applicator in the same area each time you use it
• Multitask your products: eyeshadows as highlighter, lipstick as blush, eyeshadow as brow powder, etc. 
• Layer eyeshadow to create different colors (this is especially helpful to get use out of shades you’re not fond of).
• Have shadows with a ton of fall out?  Use water
• Watching the progress of others’ can be fun but try not compare your progress to theirs.  We all use our makeup differently and have different goals.
• Don’t restrict yourself to only using the item(s) you are working on.  It’s more than OK to incorporate other items or take a break!
• Makeup should be fun….if you begin to dread doing your makeup because you made a commitment to use a product that you now hate, TOSS IT!  Do not force yourself to use up something you don’t like.  Move on to something else!  (This includes excluding particular shades from your goals if focusing on palettes, etc.)

Ideas to Help You Pan Those Items:

• Roll the dice: number your items and use a random number generator to pick what you will use each (day/week/month/etc.) 
• Layer/Mask: items you are less fond of under things you like
• Pan a Look: at the beginning of the week pick a look that you can wear everyday
• Recreate: a look worn by a fellow BICer, celebrity, etc.
• Spice up an "everyday" look by adding subtle pops of color (in the crease or on the lower lash line, mix lip products to make shades wearable, etc.)

Oh wow @KeriCherryDee, that’s some serious pan on the powder foundation. 😍 

I’m so sorry to hear about your skin acting out. Smart call on taking a break from certain products. I’ve had ups and downs (mostly downs) with my skin for years and years. It’s still a work in progress but I’m a lot more mindful about keeping to what works for my skin and letting go of things that don’t work. I hope you find out what the problem products are for you, and that your skin is healing / recovered.

These 4 lippies I've only used a couple times, I'm not giving up lol

Have not touched the palette 😔

I think I'm going to use the CT flawless filter a couple more times and toss, it's about 3/4 done 

This foundation was ok at first, but the minute I used it on my summer skin, it broke up on my forehead, so I tossed it, replacing it with ⏬

I still have it, it just needs to be shaken, I won't use it on my face anymore, just my shoulders to highlight now, since a fellow bic'er gave me that genius idea @BluePaisley I've had it for a couple years 🤦

@lmaster That's a lot of lip progress!  Have you tried the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter as maybe a body shimmer?  Little on the shoulders/collarbone?

My apologies for lack of updates but I am still working on my panning! I have a few new products in now from goals met.

I am currently working to finish up all of these products other than the Charlotte Tilbury pinkgasm wand which I want to use 30 times before picking a new product.

products: clarins lip oil honey, tower 28 gloss, flawless filter, Pat McGrath powder, Laura Mercier foundation, milk setting spray, fenty cream bronzer, Charlotte pinkgasm wand, urban decay eyeliner, wander beauty brow pencil. 

This Fenty bronzer I have been trying to finish since last year and it’s taking me forever!!!

I am getting close on my Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer and My Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter 3 - Fair 

i am happy to report I finished my ILIA Soft Focus Finishing Powder Fade Into You and will feature that in my next empties update! I rolled in my Pat McGrath powder to replace it which I don’t like as much and there are other powders I enjoy more so I’d like to finish it.

@itsfi thanks! I just have a few more uses left of the fenty bronzer. I’m down to the very last bits of it now. Looking forward to updating my thread! I think in July I will have some completed makeup items from my pan!
