It's that time again: time to post about the products that let us down in one way or another.  Was your lipstick too sheer?  Post here!  Did you hair oil make you cry?  Hit reply!  Was your serum too thin?  Weigh in!  Here we go...

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

@Ispend2much6 What did you like from the Color Wow line?

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

@greeneyedgirl107   The COLOR WOW Dream Coat Supernatural Treatment Spray for Frizzy Hair 6.7 fl oz/200 mL  (there is a 1.7 oz trial size also,) and the COLOR WOW Dream Cocktail Coconut-Infused Hydrating Leave In Treatment 6.7 oz/ 200 mL  (also has a small size.)

I tried the COLOR WOW One Minute Transformation Anti Frizz Styling Cream 4 oz/ 120 mL..  I haven't used it enough to have an opinion yet.

The Supernatural spray, along with Kiehl's olive oil masque and Briogeo's co-wash, have helped my hair change from total frizz to having some curl back.  The Dream Cocktail works in a similar way to the Supernatural spray, but it's a cream, and will wash out at the next shampoo.  The Supernatural spray seems to hold on a little for me.  It also was really good at preventing our humidity from turning my hair into a tumbleweed.

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

@Ispend2much6 I'm always interested in frizz-fighting!  The COLOR WOW Mini Dream Coat Supernatural Spray Anti-Frizz Treatment 1.7 oz/ 50 mL piqued my interest, but I had heard some say it made their hair dry.  I guess it's like every other product out there - it depends on the person!  I'll keep your routine in mind for the future.  For now, it's too hot for me to do much of anything to my hair.  I justify it by telling myself I'm giving my hair a break from heat exposure!  Oh - and how often do you use the Supernatural spray?  I read that you should only use it every three shampoos or something...

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

@greeneyedgirl107Hmm...hair is such a complicated situation.  For reasons we have discussed,  I think my hair got so badly damaged this year due to absorption issues.  My hair has never been this lifeless, frizzy, and dry.

It doesn't make my hair dry at all, not at all like the shampoo and conditioner.  It also really, really helped my hair stay curly and not frizzy on a warm, rainy day!

However, I do wonder how much of the success I had depends upon using the Briogeo, Kiehls, and Color Wow together.  Whatever it is, it works for me.

Because my hair is so dry, I only wash it 2-3 times a week, and I use the spray twice a week. 🙂

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

@Ispend2much6 Thanks for the info!

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

@greeneyedgirl107 my miss for this month has sadly been the new Sephora Best Skin. It started out so promising and lately it’s pilled no matter what I have used underneath. 😕I’m back to my usual LM tinted moisturizer or old Jouer tinted m. They are dewier too. Anybody else try this and have better luck?!

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

@Sunnysmom ack, pilling is such a pain! Curious as well how your skin has been under the weather. The change was slow for me, but when I eased up on the enzymes & exfoliating, I noticed less pilling on my priming/foundation products. Just a thought!

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

Thanks @eshoe good thought. Yes my skin has actually been behaving quite well these days. I try to keep the extra exfoliation to a few times a week except whatever goes on from my serums and such so it doesn’t seem like too much. Unless it is! Lol. I don’t have the issue with any other product right now either so 🤷🏻‍♀️who knows! Color is natural and I like the finish of it tho!

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

@Sunnysmom, sorry to hear this one didn't end up working for you. I picked up a bottle during the spring sale and used it a few times without issue. Good that you have other tinted moisturizes to fall back to, and that you love.

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

Oh did you @itsfi ? Good to know. I am sure it’s operator error then! Maybe my moisturizer is too heavy.

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

@Sunnysmom, it's probably not user error if you've tried it with other products. Not all products work for everyone. Could just be it's not a good fit for you. Any change in the weather from the time you first started using it (when it worked well) to when it started pilling on you?

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

You’re too kind @itsfi ☺️.  I do notice that with some products.  Well our weather has been a bit changeable these days so that could be. It’s basically been quite cool out with just a little humidity, not much.

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

@Sunnysmom  Oh no!  I wish this worked for you as it's so reasonably priced.  You know that I love it; I don't use anything underneath it, just moisturizer, and sometimes not even that.

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

Oh that’s right @Ispend2much6 ! I know, I was so excited to try it. I’ve never really had that happen before either. I was so sad and the color match was perfect too! I’ll try it with another moisturizer and see. I don’t want to give it up!

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

@Sunnysmom  That's good news about the color.  Sephora does a good job with that, for me.  I can't think of another brand that I've gotten such consistently good foundation shade matches with, no matter the price.

Does it pill on only one application, or a second layer, or both?

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

Yes I was impressed with that too @Ispend2much6 . Really good. I really just did one application and very lightly also. I wonder if the gel LaMer would be better or worse. I haven’t used it this season , only the light cream, ABader or UBeauty.

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

@greeneyedgirl107 My miss for the past few months has been the Dr. Jart Peptidin radiance serum. I simply don’t find it does much of anything to my skin. I guess I was expecting a glow or some brightness in the mornings after using it. And although it’s only 30ml which I initially thought was quite small, it’s actually lasted me a while and I’m just trying to finish it up and move on 😪

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

@Guessgal I used this when it first came out and I was seriously wondering if it was just water in a fancy pink container because it felt like water and did nothing lol

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

@Guessgal, I couldn't get this serum to work for me either. I ended up applying it on my neck and adding a drop to my hand cream as a way to work my way through the bottle.

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

@itsfi @ather @haleyvvvv Oh wow I’m surprised to see so many resounding votes against this one! There was a time where I just thought the issue was me 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

@greeneyedgirl107 You have enlightened me! I wasn’t aware of Beautypedia as a resource but I’ll start browsing it, as I’m curious! I didn’t notice any scent when applying this product so I wasn’t expecting to read bergamot and lavender oils as possible irritants!

Re: Monthly Misses: June 2021

@Guessgal Let me know how you like Beautypedia.  I rarely make a skincare move without it!
