Love At First Sample!!! 🥰

I know you’ve tried a sample (or ten) of something and it was so magical it made you stop everything and buy a product cause it was love at first sample!  What was it and did the full sized version live up to your initial heart-melted impression? Or is it still on your shopping list to pick up at your earliest convenience?  

The first time I can recall this happening to me was when Sephora still carried Dermadoctor.  I had a sample of their KP Duty Body Scrub.  I used it just to push it through my stash and was absolutely blown away by how immediately soft and exfoliated my skin was!  Instant purchase!   It’s been six years and I have yet to find any body scrub that compares -and I’ve tried!

A more recent love-at-first-sample is the Dior Backstage Face and Body Primer!  It’s a slightly peach tinted,creamy gel consistency and is mega hydrating while blurring subtle imperfections on its own but making foundation apply so smoothly!!!  Plus it has a beautiful floral fragrance which may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s very pleasing to me. 🙂

I've tried different detox shampoo's over the years and while I have found some good ones here and there, I always find myself coming back to OUAI Detox Clarifying Shampoo with Apple Cider Vinegar. 💖 

 

I recently went into one of my local stores and asked about detox shampoos - to see what else might be out there that I should at least try, a couple of the Sephora castmembers provided me some recommendations, each included the Ouai in their recs. Makes sense, it does what it's intended to, and it does it beautifully. I typically have anywhere from 1-3 detox / clarifying shampoos on hand - the Ouai is always one of them. 🐐

I always come back to this one @ather. 100% agree, the smell on this one is lovely - not too overpowering either. I'm planning on this detox shampoo being a staple in my collection, and also looking for one other (maybe two) detox shampoo to rotate through. Are there other detox shampoo's that you like/love?

@itsfi  I didn’t mind the K18 Biomimetic Hairscience PEPTIDE PREP™ Clarifying Detox Shampoo 8.5 oz / 250 mL  but I keep going back to the OUAI Detox Clarifying Shampoo with Apple Cider Vinegar  too. If you find more keep me posted!

@ather, those are my top 2, with the Ouai in the top spot. I have a couple in my stash waiting for me to try - I plan to pull the one from Oribe soon to test out.

Same here!! I tried so many different brands, from drugstore to super pricy, and out of all of them I like OUAI Detox Clarifying Shampoo with Apple Cider Vinegar the best also. A sort-of runner up that I will often use just before I get in the bath is Briogeo Scalp Revival™ Charcoal + Tea Tree Buildup Detox Spray 4 oz / 120 ml as that one you leave on for 15-20 minutes and I always feel like I can feel it working (of course I know that’s the tea tree but still)! I currently use both of these products. I also fell in love with the dry shampoo amika Perk Up Plus Extended Clean Dry Shampoo and I almost wish I hadn’t because my wallet would prefer Batiste 😉

@forestmaiden, that's a formidable trio of products. 😍 The Briogeo detox spray sounds interesting - I feel like I have a mini (or maybe even a full size) of it; I'll take a look at my bin and if I have it, I'll give it a go. The amika perk up dry shampoo is a good one; it's in my top 2, along with the K18 dry shampoo. lol, on your wallet's preference.

 I love the creative name of the product, this sample was so neat because it introduced me to using less shampoo and conditioner the instructions read to use half of what you usually do! It was amazing my hair felt smooth, it smells amazing and I like how it covers my scalp with less product.
