As I was getting ready today I noticed that I was thinking of how I could do a shout out for one of my new favourite products, recommended to me by a fellow BIC enthusiast. As I was going through my routine I noticed that I had several products that were recommended to me through BIC/BT specifically. Now BIC frankly, has given me a push to order a lot of things, but these are specific products that were only purchased because of a BIC recommendation, not just a new launch product that was exciting. I was thinking I needed to thank a few people for their awesome recommendations on products that aren't just a flavour of the week, but now hold a good anchor in my life.
Does anyone else have a specific product thank you? Mine mentioned below!
Couldn't agree more! @Luvstravel
Bahaha!!! @lmaster You’re not wrong! I can probably attribute 99% of my collections to BIC.... a year and a half ago I didn’t own 3 sheet masks.... a suitcase if em later I’ve added a zero or two to that number lol
This is a wonderful thread, @missjeanie ! Unfortunately my memory is terrible, so I don't remember who all influenced my purchases. Here are a few I can think of. I'm sure there are many more!:
- Tarte Sweettarte - @RGbrown mailed a sample of this perfume to me. I bought the rollerball; I really like the scent.
- The 7 Virtues Vetiver Elemi Eau de Parfum 1.7 oz/ 50 mL Eau de Parfum Spray - @pocketvenus reviewed this scent on the Perfume Challenge thread. It sounded so good that I actually bought the rollerball blind! It's in my top three perfumes that I own!
- Living Proof Perfect hair Day (PhD) Triple Detox Shampoo 5.4 oz/ 160 mL - Sephora Gratis Box. Recently I repurchased this shampoo. I've been using it with the Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair!™ Deep Conditioning Hair Mask 32 oz/ 946 mL . It has calmed my itchy scalp and my hair looks shiny and feels soft.
- Natasha Denona eyeshadow - Everyone on the ND thread
- Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Glycolic Essence - I read a response to someone else who asked about glycolic acid. The person who responded was someone I was familiar with from over the years. She had very positive comments with regards to this product. I've been using it since. As you can tell, I don't remember who it was, @itscarin or @itsfi ???
- I would also like to thank everyone who provided reviews and swatches that helped me make a decision about a product.
💖💖💖
@Titian06 Glad you liked it ❤️ I'm a sucker for a little hit of cumin
@Titian06 I received the LP detox shampoo as well and even though I didn’t know I needed a detox shampoo I’ve enjoyed having in my routine every few weeks.
i hear you with the Natasha Denona.... I need new eyeshadow like a hole in the head, but I keep looking at that tropic palette on sale!
@missjeanie I was hoping there would be a thread like this someday! I'd love to hear what BICers routines were BEFORE BIC, and what they are NOW. I've been inspired to add so many good products to my beauty regime. IDK if I will be able to think of the particular BICers, though. This is worth a shot:
I think the first thing I tried b/c of BIC was First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser 8 oz/ 237 mL . I had read a decent amount about it on BIC, but I think @jemly finally pushed me over the edge.
Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum was rec'd by @GG84 and @WinglessOne .
I never would have tried an essence had it not been for BIC. I chose Paula's Choice Skin Brightening Essence, which has sadly been discontinued. I adore it!!!
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro™ Nourishing Whipped Refillable Moisturizer 1.69 oz/ 50 mL is another BIC one. There are many who've raved about it.
LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask – Intense Hydration Lip Treatment with Vitamin C Berry was enabled by @SportyGirly125 and she also gave valuable insight into another purchase, LANEIGE Lip Glowy Balm Pear .
I had been eyeing up Paula's Choice Gentle Touch Makeup Remover, but I think it was @RGbrown who put me over the edge.
My new favorite mask (I think I will designate it a HG) was definitely inspired by the masking thread and all the posting from @itsfi . It is VERSED Find Clarity Purifying Mask.
BIC also gave me a push toward AHA. I use Alpha Skin Care's 10% glycolic acid. I must admit I found this one on my own.
BIC also convinced me to give facial oils another go. I really love The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil for Skin Elascicity 1 oz/ 30 mL . And after that, I had to buy The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane for Skin and Hair Hydration 1 oz/ 30 mL .
Endless talk about eye creams finally compelled me to try First Aid Beauty FAB Skin Lab Retinol Eye Cream with Triple Hyaluronic Acid .
Bumble and bumble Mini Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Frizz Reducing Hair Oil 0.85 oz/ 25 mL also a BIC purchase. While I don't use it anymore, I used it and liked it for a year.
I'll have to sit back and think if there are any other products that were directly linked to BIC that I use regularly. And speaking of this, I wish that when adding products to my Loves List, there was a way to add comments to myself like, "@____ rec'd this." It would be so helpful to remind myself who rec'd it, and why. Tagging @KatieBT for this idea 🙂
So many fabulous skincare goodies @greeneyedgirl107! The mask thread can be just a bit enabling! 😆 Love the idea of being able to jot down notes in the Loves list. ♥️ @KatieBT
@itsfi Yes, the masking thread is very fun! And glad you liked my idea 🙂
@greeneyedgirl107 I love your idea of being able to put notes on our loves lists items. I know before Beauty Talk I still had a routine, but it was more, face wash and moisturizer, with a sunscreen in the summer. My make up routine was probably the same, but with way less product selection and no primer or brow products. I used to be able to fit all my make up in one larger make up bag...mostly Clinique and a bit of MAC (The MAC felt like it was so cool since I couldn't get it in my smaller home town), now I have drawers, many drawers lol.
@missjeanie LOOOOVE this thread!
I've been an Admin in this incredible Community for almost 5 years now so I don't usually buy anything unless I hear Community members raving about it 😄 I also make my friends check the community before they buy because I know you all have tried so many products and can be trusted!
Some of my first purchases I bought due to BeautyTalk (at the time) hype were:
Nex I want all of the Sephora Collection clean products due to the awesome reviews in this thread: Feedback Wanted: New, Clean Sephora Collection Makeup and Skincare!
@KatieBT You've got some gems there! I tried the Shiseido cotton after seeing them posted about continually on BT as well. I kept wondering how good cotton would be to cost that much... once I tried em... I understood!
@missjeanie @KatieBT I agree--BIC finally pushed me over the edge to try the cottons 🙂
