Does it really attract spiders?

I’ve been hearing about the new sold de Janeiro body butter and that’s it’s attracting wolf spiders??? I’m pretty sure it got debunked but I have a really bad phobia of spiders so has anyone had any insects or spiders recently from the body butter? I just wanted to know before buying.🤷‍♀️

Re: Does it really attract spiders?

@Ariiielaaa Claims about this product attracting spiders are false. Please see the following statement from Sol de Janeiro:
“We have seen the recent social media rumors claiming that this product attracts spiders. These claims have no merit whatsoever, including those that our products contain specific chemicals that allegedly attract spiders. These chemicals, farnesyl acetate, diisobutyl phthalate and hexadecyl acetate, are not present in ANY Sol de Janeiro products. We take the safety and concerns of our consumers extremely seriously. While we cannot speak to the affect these chemicals have on arachnids, we confidently can say that these chemicals are not present in any of our products.

The brand carefully selects each ingredient for maximum efficacy and has banned the use of over 100 cosmetic ingredients in our formulations, while remaining at the forefront of developments in science. Furthermore, all our products are cruelty free and PETA certified, as we do not conduct animal testing.”

@Ariiielaaa @It’s not true. They even had to put out a statement.
