🌟 Posting Your Self-Care Activities. This challenge is certainly one you can do on your own. It's also something we can take part in together. If you feel comfortable, share about the activities you did to earn each square by replying to this original post - with words, photos, and/or a pic of the bingo scorecard with the activity / activities you took part in crossed out. You can post weekly or at the end of the month, depending on your preference. We love hearing from the Community and have learned about new ways of doing things that we wouldn't have thought of otherwise.
That's awesome to hear! @Shosh85 🥳❤️ Do you use anything after the treatment? It says you can skip conditioner afterwards, do you just go right to styling products? Skipping condish feels so crazy when I do it 😅
@CynthieLu Nope, I didn't use anything after! I don't ever style my hair either (mom life 😉) so literally nothing else is used after, and it always turns out so great! 🙌
Week 3 was a slower week in terms of the variety of self-care activities I attempted.
🎮 Try / Do Something New To You: Mmmm, something new-ish to me. I played video games the other day; or, more accurately, I tried playing video games. 🤣 With a few exceptions, I haven't really played video games since I was in grade school. Let's just say that my hand-eye coordination when it comes to these things could use some a lot of work. hahahaha. Definitely a work in progress. I got a good laugh at my efforts.
☕ Warm & Cozy Drink: Chai latte with almond milk, extra spices.
🛌 Prioritize Sleep: I've been sleeping early and longer than I normally do this past week / weekend; I've felt more tired than usual so I've gone to bed early. Not quite how I expected to earn this square but I get to check it off, and am feeling better, so win-win.
📚 Book / Audiobook / Podcast / Movie: I'm giving audiobooks another go this month, choosing one I feel may be better suited to this medium. If I can stick to my reading / listening schedule, i can probably finish late this week / early next.
Good work this week! @itsfi I am a little curious, what video game did you try? Good for you for trying something you haven't really done in awhile. 💪🎉
Your Chai in its big mug looks delicious, the warm spices in a chai are so comforting imo. Excellent choice for your cozy bevy. ☕
@CynthieLu, it was definitely a warm, cozy and comforting drink. Folks were playing Donkey Kong when I joined in. I was better at letting others know where to go and what they should do, more so than actually getting my character to do those things. Oh well, it was fun.
That's a hard game imo, my spouse played that one alot as a kid and as grown-ups he's def tried to get me to pay it with him. It's tooouuugggh, don't feel bad @itsfi
@CynthieLu, thanks. I actually don't feel bad at all about it - it's rigged if I'm the odds on favorite to win at a game like Donkey Kong. It was just fun to see everyone be tickled that I took part.
@itsfi Mmmm, I love a good Chai Latte! - I bet it's great with almond milk! 😋
I haven't played video games in sooo long! What did you play? I happen to be the master of Super Mario 😉 I miss Nintendo and Super Nintendo. I remember being glued to the T.V. for hours and getting mad if someone stepped in front me and caused me to "die" 😂 My husband and I got a Wii a while back and that's pretty fun - it's actually a good work out!
Great job getting more sleep! That's a tough one, but so important! That one's a work in progress for me 😉
@Shosh85, ahhh, Super Mario - that’s a throwback!!! 😍 Love knowing that it’s your game!!! Go, girl!!! 👊🏼 I’ve been to arcades but I’m really watching/helping out with kids there (and making sure they rack up points to spend at the end of the day 😉) so video games harken back to childhood. Books and video games. 📚 🎮 😆 We were playing Donkey Kong; well, I was trying to play it. Hahaha! Hand-eye coordination could use some work, for sure. 😳
Yeah, the sleep thing is a long time coming. The last 5+ years were not good, so I’m trying to make an effort to be good to myself in that area.
@itsfi Donkey Kong!! I loved Donkey Kong! I passed the whole "world" on Super Nintendos Donkey Kong Country! Oh man, now I really want to play that again!
@CynthieLu I probably played Super Mario Bros. #1-3 the most, but #3 was my most favorite.😉 I also really loved Super Nintendo's Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country.
Yeees!! Those were the OG @Shosh85 🙌
Actually my sister told me this fun fact recently about Super Mario 3, that when it was first released this game the jump controls were ridiculously hard compared to when you get your hands on a copy now, that bug had long been fixed. And I was like, oh man. I today remember some of the jumps in that game were crazy.
@CynthieLu Interesting! I didn't know that 😃 My family got a Nintendo system a few years after it was released, but it was mostly my brothers thing at the time. I didn't really start getting into until early-to-mid 90's. Those were the days 😊
I play those games on the switches retro pass still 😉 @Shosh85
Yeah I didn't know either right? But I was like "It makes sooo much sense!"
Fantastic wellness week, that chai sounds amazing, and video games sound fun! I’m glad your sleep is going well! I can relate to the tired feeling with more sleep sometimes! And an audio book sounds awesome it’s great to be able to pause and come back later. Great work ❤️ @itsfi
I want to give the audiobook platform a fair shake @peculiarzmakeup. We'll see. I do miss being able to underline / highlight sections of the book that I enjoy. I imagine there may be a similar feature (there's a "clip" component that looks like it could be promising) but I need to do a little more research there.
Checking in with my progress mid month
@itsfi this is my first time filing in your cards, it makes me appreciate the work you put into this, thank you! And I gotta say, I actually do much better with wellness with a motivator and tracking tool like this. This cute card is pretty handy.
I feel like I'm on track to complete a few more of these this week. I feel really good about how things are going. 😊💪
Some of these tie right in with my resolutions this year so that helped too. 🎉
@CynthieLu Nice job! You've already accomplished a lot 🙌 I agree, having a cute lil' card to check off is definitely a great motivator!
