Monthly Favorites: May 2025 Edition!

Hey hey BIC, I hope May has treated you well—we’re almost to the beloved summa time, so hang in there! 🧡 I’ve been enjoying the warmer spring weather and the sun setting later every day. ☀

As for my faves this month, I’ve been shopping/replenishing my own stash of OGs and listed a few of them below. However, I am on the hunt as we get closer to summer and need your help! ⚠ What are your fave sunscreens, tinted moisturizers, or combo of both?? I’m mostly off foundation and am a concealer-face stan LOL, but looking for some lightweight, easy coverage options. 🤩 I wear SPF everyday but want to switch from my innisfree Daily UV Defense Invisible Broad Spectrum SPF 36 Sunscreen 1.69 oz / 50 ml to something a little less dewy and non-irritating. Also am researching in the lovely National SPF Day ☀️ thread so s/o to @ather for starting 🙏. Hit me with all your recs pretty please!

Now that we're officially well past May, I can confidently say what some of my new favourites are!

Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum took over a month of introducing into my routine before my skin stopped freaking out but I've immediately noticed a difference in texture. My skin looks more plump, which is incredible as I already had great results from using Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One AHA Lactic Acid Treatment for several years, but it looks even smoother than before. 

MAKEUP BY MARIO Soft Pop Powder Blush LOVE, such a gentle pop of colour and it applies beautifully with my MERIT The Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Foundation and Concealer Stick and Westman Atelier Face Trace Cream Contour Stick 

Both products are new purchases from the Spring Savings Event, so far almost everything has performed as expected ✨

Aprils favorites definitely rolled over to this month but some of the new items I've been loving for May are:

• Lancôme Lash Idôle Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara in brown. Wore this to to the gym and no smudges. 0.
• Dermalogica Daily Milkfoliant Exfoliator 2.6 oz / 74 g absolute game changer. Baby skin every day
• Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Soft Pinch Matte Bouncy Blush Worth im seriously thinking of picking up additional shades. Impressed. Love. Definitely worth the price.
• Naked Sunday Sunscreen. Great sunscreen that does leave you sticky!

Brown mascaras really do make a lovely everyday look @jaaayp don't they? You have a nice line up of choices for this month's top picks. I was reading your comments about the exfoliator below. Everyday with no irritation?? That is a serious win for your skin. 😍

It's actually really good @CorgiMommy ! I bought it during the 50% off sale but omg did not expect it to be this good. It's most definitely gentle to use everyday and causes 0 irritation. Plus, you use soooo little, it'll last forever!

Hi! I do have combo/oily skin and it hasn't been an issue my usually dry spots but can't say for sure 🙂

I haven't even posted any monthly favorites recently because I haven't really had any but this month had some winners.

- Sorce "Match Made in Heaven" is the fragrance that I can't stop wearing.  Think matcha ice cream in a waffle cone--it's delicious.

-Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Cheek Tint Blush 42S Sunlit Sienna is my perfect Summer blush.  It's like having a slightly luminous sunburn in the best way possible.

- Bumble and bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Long Last Hydrating Hair Styling Cream 6.7 oz / 200 ml is a product that I've had for a minute but had pushed it to the back of a cupboard and I rediscovered it this month.  It's so good!  I only need a tiny bit for my shoulder-length hair and it makes my hair feel softer and also helps hold my hairstyle.

- amika Superfruit Star Lightweight Hair Styling Oil 1.7 oz / 50 mL has become a haircare staple over the last few months.  I've already finished one bottle and this is my second.  It's an oil/serum hybrid so it gives the benefit of a hydrating oil with the lightweight texture of a serum.  10/10 recommend.
