Monthly Faves: August 2025!

Happy August, BIC! Since I’ve spent most of my summer keeping my beauty routine pretty low-maintenance, I feel like I’m going back to school trying to re-learn how to do liquid eyeliner and powder bronzer again. 😅 Now that we’ve been going back to the office after a relaxing “work-from-anywhere July,” it feels kind of comforting sinking back into my morning get-ready routine (paired with a big cup of coffee, of course) and adding some finishing makeup touches I might not have spent the same time on when dialing in from home. 😇

@AlexBT, I get why Iconic Nude is on your monthly faves list - such a great color. I've been going through my lip liner collection this summer and have been rediscovering old loves, including CT Iconic Nude. Tell me, how are you wearing it? On its own? Paired with something else? All the fun on the Lips on Lock 🔐: List Your Lip Combos 💄👄 has me thinking of lip combinations a lot. 😄

@itsfi Thanks itsfi!!! Yes, no matter how many liners I collect across all brands, I always go back to Iconic Nude and am reminded of how versatile and wearable it is. It's like my perfect lip contour shade. I usually slightly overline with it and then top with a nude or neutral pink gloss, but I feel like it can even work under a red lip! LOVE that lip combos thread ❤️

Hmmm, now you’re making me want to try it under a red lip @AlexBT and I’m usually a bit of a scaredy cat 🙀 when it comes to red lips. 😆 My current fave pairing with it is Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner Iconic Nude + Tower 28 Beauty ShineOn Lip Jelly Hydrating Non-Sticky Lip Oil Pistachio 🫶🏻

@itsfi I'm a total scaredy-cat too!! It has to be just the right special occasion (when I won't be snacking too much, which is rare)! Ooh I think I have Pistachio in my stash somewhere -- I'll have to try your combo of the moment!

@itsfi Ahh the cool/warm-toned thing is always so hard for me. Usually the ones that look best on me are right in the middle "neutral" red -- but probably ever-so-slightly warmer if I had to pick! SEPHORA COLLECTION Cream Lip Stain 10HR Liquid Lipstick 01 Always Red is a classic fave. 😉 What about you?? (when you're feeling brave, that is)

More importantly, savory snacks!! Especially ones that involve cheese. 🐭 BUT also love a sweet treat.

I'm with ya, @AlexBT, I like the neutral reds 💄 as well. The GXVE ones we generously received as gratis a couple years ago wear well (I was pleasantly shocked!) I think brownie reds or reddish browns, like maybe a neutral red with a brown or plummy brown undertone. Lately, I've been gently dabbing my lips with HAUS LABS BY LADY GAGA Color Fuse Longwear Hydrating Glassy Lip + Cheek Blush Balm Stick Glassy Clove on lips and cheeks, though to the true red lip enthusiasts, that's probably more red adjacent. 😚

Ooouh, SC Always Red is a beauty! That's one of the reds I aspire to one day be brave enough to think I might possibly find a way to pull off (that's a lot of qualifiers and conditions in there, lol). One day, alexBT; one. day. 🤣 I did go through a handful of my red lipsticks for a Red Lips Throwdown last year, which reminds I'm probably due for another round soon.

Those are excellent snack choices!! 👊
