Jen Atkin, Founder of OUAI Haircare and Celebrity Hairstylist, is heading to the Beauty Insider Community on Wednesday, October 18th, to chat all things hair. Jen will be answering your questions from 2-3 pm PDT so be sure to visit this thread with a question in mind. Ask anything from how to care for chemically treated hair to tips on the best hairstyle for your face shape.
Be sure to hit the "Reply" button below this text to ask a question. If you ask using the black chat icon to the right Jen will not see your question.
@BeautyNay yes- i would start with the Dyson Supersonic, blowing in the direction of the cuticle with the Smoothing Nozzle. Use OUAI Matte Pomade to smooth down flyaways at the roots. Use OUAI Hair Oil from mid-shaft to ends for those super sleek strands.
Thank you Jen!
@jass23 I would recommend regular trims (if you don't do that already). Also, use our OUAI Treatment Masque once a week on ends. You can put it in a bun while you're working out, and the heat will activate it and even condition even deeper. Some OUAI Finishing Creme on dry ends leaves a soft and healthy finish. It's like lotion for your hair.
@leslielove03 Start with our Smooth Shampoo & Conditioner to really give your hair a good foundation before styling. Then follow with Wave Spray on damp hair. Once it's air dried, our Finishing Creme is the perfect solution for fighting frizz--it's like lotion for your hair. And if you have any stubborn baby hairs, use some Matte Pomade on a toothbrush to help smooth down.
@jaynguyen I would do curtain bangs- Brigette Bardot is the inspo! Shorter in the center and longer on the edges.
@Sarahangie Wave Spray will be your new BFF. Use it to prep on damp hair and it will help define your waves without drying them out. Finish it off with a little Texturizing Hairspray and Matte Pomade on the ends to give it that piecey, lived in look.
Hi guys!
Super excited to chat with everyone today. Send me your Qs and let's get OUAISTED!
xx
Jen
@CaitlinXLong Definitely the OUAI Hair Oil on damp or dry hair (use from mid-shaft to ends). You should also try our leave-in conditioner- OUAI Smooth Spray- before you blow dry. Our OUAI Smooth Shampoo + Conditioner are great for taming frizz too.
@Anonymous I would make sure you only use the OUAI Rose Hair and Body Oil from mid-shaft to ends. Not near your roots, or it will make you oily. It's best to work in hair that's damp, if you're finer.
