I cannot believe that May is already here! I have been falling in love with so many new products so wanted to start an April Favorite thread to talk about everyone's favorite products they used last month.
This thread is a place to share your favorite products, from long-time holy-grails to new products that surprised you.
Which products were you loving the most in April? Show & tell!
I've been testing a lot of products this year in search of new favorites. Here are a few new hits:
Makeup:
Skincare:
Etc.:
That Korres cleanser was the first "high end" (cough*not Neutrogena*cough) face wash I'd ever tried and I fell in love! It's gentle but effective. It was OOS for a while back in the day when they repackaged everything and I forgot about it. I need to pick up a new tube soon!
BTW, @KatieBT, thanks for starting this thread! I LOVE watching YouTube Favorites videos and reading other peoples' reviews because I feel like I get good ideas about things that I want to try for myself :).
Most of these aren't new products but are more like "rediscovered loves" for me :).
The Belif Aqua Bomb is my favorite moisturizer. I just started using it too and I am in love! It works great with the Hungarian Water Essence as well. Thanks for sharing your favorite products!
Best,
Zakiya
My favorite April product was my #Viseart Tryst palette! I've already worn it so many times! It is perfect for Spring!

Joining in on the fun and leaving my HG's for the month of April. Thanks for the thread @KatieBT!
Hair- Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo, Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Primer, Oil and Finishing spray. Safe to say I am in love with the Bumble and Bumble line and most especially with the Hairdresser's line! The primer keeps my hair protected before heat exposure, the oil keeps my straight hair smooth and sleek and the finishing spray I love to spritz on my beach waves when I am not in the mood for harsh hairspray. The Sunday Shampoo is amazing at leaving my hair nice and clean unlike any other cleansing shampoo I have ever tried.
Skin- Peter Thomas Roth Skin to Die For primer, OleHenriksen's Truth on the Glow Cleansing Cloths, Smashbox Primerizer. The PTR primer I have to thank my most recent Play! box for. It mattifies my skin and keeps it nice and smooth before I apply my foundation. The Ole cloths smell like lavender vanilla and are great for removing makeup that I missed with my makeup removing wipes and leave my skin feeling soooo soft! The Smashbox primerizer I have been using for months now (about 6 months) and my skin is loving it. I use it as a moisturizer but it can be used as both a moisturizer and primer.
Makeup- ABH x Amrezy highlight (I bet you saw that one coming), Artist Couture x Jackie Aina LA Peach highlight, Too Faced Peach primer and foundation, NARS Powermatte lipsticks. The ABH and Artist Couture highlights are just the most amazing, out-of-this world highlights I own! The entire Too Faced peach line is by far my favorite for makeup but I especially took a liking to their primer and foundation. NARS Powermatte lipsticks are very matte and stay on your lips ALL day without smudging or transferring- seriously it's like magic.
Bath & Body- L'occitane Shea Shower Oil, Kopari Coconut Melt, Kopari Coconut Crush Scrub. The shower oil smells divine and leaves my skin feeling silky soft! The Kopari coconut scrub and coconut oil keep my arms baby smooth and the tubs are so gigantic I feel it's going to take half a year to finish them!
It's been a great month for discoveries.
1. My love for Lancome has been reignited. I tried a product that is new to me, the Grandiose Liner. My shade is Cerulean. It is the most gorgeous green/blue, and it screams summer (or mermaid!) It is so easy to apply too.
I also bought a similar shade in Le Stylo Waterproof, Tempo Mediterraneen. Again, just gorgeous!
2. I bought my first Milk Makeup products, and really like them. The Lip and Cheek in Swish and Rally, and the Holographic Stick in Stardust are really pretty additions to my "pink" collection.
3. Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask has got to be one of the best repairing balms I've ever used. I usually have lip peeling when using products that contain lanolin, but not this one.
@Ispend2much6 - I love green/blue/teal eye liners! I will have to look for that one!
@Ispend2much6 Ooo these sound like interesting products. I couldn't find those Lancôme colours on the Canadian site, but the names make them seem fun and bright! 🙂
@Guessgal I found them on Lancome's US site; I hope you can find them! Some department stores that carry Lancome may also have them, like Saks and Nordstrom. I don't know what the Canadian equivalents might be.
@Ispend2much6 Oh thanks for the heads up. I only checked Sephora's Canadian site; didn't think of checking Lancôme Canada haha! 😛 And yes, we have Nordstrom over here
My favorites:
- Anastasia Soft Glam palette
- KVD brow gel and '#70 brush
- Tatcha The Water Cream
- Verb Ghost Oil
- Devacurl Wave Maker
- Devacurl B'Leave-in
- Cover FX Power Play Foundation
- Sample of Maison Margiela Replica By the Fireplace
@Titian06 How would you compare KVD's brow gel to ABH's Dip Brow? I was curious to try KVD's after I finish my ABH Dip Brow and am looking for some feedback 🙂
Hi, @gonerogue! I like the KVD brow gel better than ABH. It's very creamy, has a nice amount of working time, and is waterproof (I did a smudge test with and without water). One thing I don't like as well is the color. I like the ABH taupe color better than the KVD taupe. When I need a new jar, I may swatch the next color up.
I wrote a review on the KVD Thread after my first wear. I still agree with my initial opinion. One thing I can add is I use about half the amount that I was using in the ABH (remember, I draw on my eyebrows, not fill in). Now I don't know if that is due to the gel or the brush. This brush is very different from the brush I had been using. Here is the review I wrote:
Hi, all! I wore the brow gel today for the first time. I applied it using the new brow brush. As a friendly reminder, I draw on my eyebrows since I don't have any. The brush bristle are very soft and flexible. I didn't think I would like this brush for drawing on my eyebrows. I bought the brow gel in taupe. It's lighter in color than ABH. It's very creamy and works great with the brush. I am impressed with how well the brush worked for drawing on my eyebrows. There's plenty of working time too. I finished off my brows with ABH duo powder in taupe--an excellent match for the KVD taupe brow gel.
I did a smudge test when I got home this afternoon. I rubbed my finger over my brow and it did not budge. I then wet my finger under the sink faucet and rub the water over my brow. Nope, it still didn't budge. Wow! Yeah, my ABH is being relegated to the closet...again!
@Titian06 Thank you for the in-depth review of the KVD brow gel. I'm pleased to hear you like it better than ABH because I really like ABH so I'm sure I'll love the KVD one. I'm kinda hesitant to buy the brush with it because I'm so used to my ABH #14 brush but I can see how it might work better with the product. Thank you again for your honest feedback! When I use up my Dipbrow, I'll pick up the KVD 🙂
