April Favorites

I cannot believe that May is already here! I have been falling in love with so many new products so wanted to start an April Favorite thread to talk about everyone's favorite products they used last month.

This thread is a place to share your favorite products, from long-time holy-grails to new products that surprised you.

Which products  were you loving the most in April? Show & tell!

Re: April Favorites

@gonerogue - I have the ABH '#15 brush, which is the same as the '#14, but without the spoolie.  I decided to use it this morning instead of waiting until the weekend.  It worked very well with the KVD brow gel.  For me drawing on my eyebrows, my lines were a bit more wiggly and misplaced, so I had more cleanup work to do.  For someone with eyebrows, like you ๐Ÿ˜‰ , I doubt you'll have any problems.  I think you should try using the KVD gel with the ABH brush first.  If that doesn't work well, then try the KVD brush.

Re: April Favorites

@Titian06 Great to hear! Thank you again for all of your feedback ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: April Favorites

@gonerogue - This weekend I'll try my ABH brush with the KVD brow gel.  I'll let you know how it goes.

Re: April Favorites

I clearly don't have as much as other people, but i'll put my top three in each category:

MAKEUP:

The tarte pro to go, perfect for travel

The fenty mini hu$la baby highlighter, really nice for that golden hour glow

The becca champagne pop, holy grail again

SKINCARE:

The pomegranate sephora sheet mask, great for a quick, simple mask

The fresh soy cleanser, so soft and fantastic, holy grail

The tatcha water cream, makes me feel so moisturized I love it

HAIR:

morrocanoil shampoo and conditioner, makes my hair easier to work with

ouai texture spray, makes my hair look great

verb ghost oil, fixes all the bad hair days

thats it!

Re: April Favorites

@Harcerka I've been debating about trying the Moroccanoil but I'm a little worried that it may be TOO hydrating since I have fairly thin and very straight hair.  Can I ask what hair type you have?

Re: April Favorites

@CookieGirl1 If you have fine hair, I recommend trying the Moroccanoil Treatment Light. It's a lighter formulation for fine hair. My hair is fine but I have a lot of it. I can use either but I have to be pretty careful not to overdo it with the original formula.

Re: April Favorites

@keelybt Thx for the insight!

Re: April Favorites

These are my new favourites from April! โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

My new favourite moisturizer is Ole Henriksen Truth Advanced moisturizing Creme. It is my new Holygrail ๐Ÿ˜My skin feels and looks the best it ever has and has a great glow to it.

For foundation I have started to use Lancรดme's Skin Feels Good Skin Tint.  I use the colour Nude and have really liked the healthy glow it gives my skin well evening out my skin tone  without being to heavy. Is a more light coverage foundation but great for summer.

For Hair I  purchased the Sephora Favourites Festival Hair kit and Ouai's Wave spray. I love using the products together, like IGKs Rich Kid gel and the wave spray to create great beach waves.

My last one is a  sample I got. tatcha's Silk Canvas primer and I have loved the way it makes my skin looks with makeup ๐Ÿ’œIMG_2311.JPG

Re: April Favorites

@melissapurple22 I've fallen in love with the Ouai Spray again, too!  I'd forgotten how AMAZING it smells, too, but I can't help it--I literally want to bathe in it.

Re: April Favorites

Good idea!

Jury is still out on Kush.  I don't know if I got one that doesn't have a small enough 'squeegie'(?) because there is always a large goopie piece of mascara left on my brush.  This morning was the first time I was able to get the chunk off.  But I still feel I get too much mascara on the brush.

Let me just say, I have LOVED Rose Gold all my life.  So this season is just all that for me.

Marc Jacobs Coconut Collection:

Eye Pallette - big win for color, and pigment.  A lot of dust in the pan, though.

Loose Powder- OK, It's probably just another loose powder, but its not super 'poofy' like my KVD.

Tan-Tastic Browser- OMG! LOVE LOVE LOVE.  I've never had a bronzer that didn't look like I had just put coco powder all over my face.  So nice!

Dew Drops: Fantasy -  FABULOUS!!!  These are just a luscious rosy glow.

***SUPER disappointed this coconut collection has products with silicones in it!***

Gel Highliners - LOVE THESE and use at least one daily!

Smashbox + Vlada

Petal Metal Highlighter:Prismatic Pearl- I enjoy this highlighter, though it is more rosy red than rose gold.  I do enjoy it.

Petal Metal Always On Liquid Lipstick: In Bloom - I don't even need to say anything.  This stuff gives KVD's Everlasting Liquid Lip a run for its money!

Black Rose Liquid eyeliner - NOT WATERPROOF!  It runs under the corners of my eyes.  I had to put it over KVD Trooper to get it to stay.

**I'm just gonna assume ahead of time that I am going to love the eye palette because its ROSE GOLD!!!

KAT VON D

KVD Pomade in various and sundry colors - I haven't even gotten to try them yet.  I tried to use my sephora #20 brush, but it wasn't thin enough.  I am waiting for KVD's #70 brush.

KVD 10th Anniversary Palette- This palette is vibrant, silky, has no notable (to me) kick back and no fall out.

KVD 10th Anniversary Metal Crush Highlighter- WOWWEEE!!! SHIMMER ON CRACK!

Hourglass

Illusion skin tint/foundation- Love this stuff.  It breathes so much better than the KVD foundation I have.

Hourglass Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting Palette - SOOOO grateful this came in and I got one!  It is glorious and I love using it.

Tarte
Tarte Clay Pot Waterproof Liners: I picked up a bunch on their site that are discontinued, including margarita, mint, and many other bright colors.
Tarte Chrome Paint Shadow Pot: Wonderful stuff!
Tarte Rose Gold liquid liner-  Working very well with the rose gold shadow sets!

Skin Care
The Ordinary- These are just wonderful.  I am 47 and I have seen a huge change in my skin, dynamic lines and wrinkles, hydration, since starting these morning and night.
Glow Recipe- Night mask is just unbelieveable.  I have to say it is my HG.  It is wonderful all the way around.
Fresh Masks: I bought a few box sets and love them.  I plan to work my way through them.  I am looking forward to the vitamin nectar vibrancy boost!!!
GlamGlow-I have died from the vitamin c, and have used the mud mask.  I can't wait to use the lifting and the moisturizing ones.
Boscia peeling mask- I just love it.

Just scored some Tatcha cleaning and essence on QVC and am waiting for it to get here.  The Camillia Oil cleanser is wonderful!  They had the 10oz bottle for less than $60!

I am looking forward to the opportunity to snag a KVD 10th anniversary kit.  If not, I have the main stuff already.  OH!  And you can snag that at some JCPenny's Sephora's if they haven't been ordered to put it away yet.

Re: April Favorites

@IdaBish - I bought the KVD '#70 brush when I purchased the brow gel.  I didn't think I would like the brush because the bristle are so soft and flexible.  But the brush is perfect for applying the very soft brow gel.  Now I'm glad I purchase the brush!

Re: April Favorites

@KatieBT Good idea for a thread since many of us probably got new products during the Spring Sale!  I starting using FAB Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum and love how gentle it.  It's almost weightless!  I also want to share that I read it contains antioxidants, which I think the brand should promote more!  ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: April Favorites

I got that new Becca hydrating setting powder and I love it! When I dust it over my face it feels SO cool (literally!!) and I love the look it gives to my skin. Its super unique! Just donโ€™t bake with it, its not meant for that!

Re: April Favorites

@sabrinas i've been super curious about that! A lot of youtube reviews mention it makes their face feel tight - did that happen to you because I'm interested in the product but products that make my fave feel tight/dry are not for me. Does it have any coverage or is it mostly translucent?

Re: April Favorites

@Kim888 Hmm I dont recall my face feeling tight at all! And no coverage, just translucent! It set my makeup pretty well too, I had no transfer issues!

Re: April Favorites

I'll join in! ๐Ÿ™‚

Skincare:

  • Laura Mercier Infusion de Rose oil- only been using it for a short while so haven't seen the effects much, but it doesn't irritate my skin, which I like and smells heavenly.
  • Belif's Aqua Bomb- this feels soooo GOOD and cooling to my skin. I love how it feels when I dab it on before I even start rubbing it in. It takes a little bit to dry but is still amazing.
  • BareMinerals SkinLongevity Vital Power Eye Gel Cream- I love this cream so far! Is very moisturizing and has helped my dark circles more than any other creams I've tried.
  • Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Mask- this mask is heavenly as well. I haven't used it consecutively to see the long term results but just in the short 15 minutes it takes, I have seen that my skin looks more radiant and feels really soft!

Makeup:

  • Kat Von D Studded Creme Lipstick- in OG Lolita and Divine. These are AMAZING. Sooo creamy and yummy- they smell like cocoa almost, I want to eat them lol ๐Ÿ˜„ They don't last long and transfer onto my drinks but I don't mind, the formula is just that great!
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick- when I want something more matte but doesn't transfer as much as Kat Von D, I go with this. I have Kiss and Soft Pink, both pretty colors. They aren't extremely long wearing but they still have pretty color after you drink/eat but if you do it a lot throughout the day you would need to reapply. Love them!
  • M.A.C. eyeshadow in the shade All That Glitters (from ULTA)- it's a pretty beige with gold pearl that I like to wear as a normal workday kind of eyeshadow. Not too much but still a little shimmer to stand out.

Hair:

  • OUAI Rose Hair and Body Oil- I've only used it a few times in my hair but it smells soooo GOOD. Definitely a must try!

That's about it for me this month ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: April Favorites

I'll start! I have been loving a lot of the same products I've been using forever and some are new to me!

HAIR:

  • Alterna CC Cream has been an HG for me for at least 5 years now
  • IGK's Sold Out - If anyone who reads this has curly hair and hasn't tried this yet I suggest you snag this because it's totally changed my hair game!
  • IGK Sold Out Dirty Spray - LOVE this product when I need some grit. Also adds awesome volume to my waves
  • Ouai Wave Spray. - I mean this is such a great everyday spray and it's great for all hairtypes

SKIN:

  • Our Tatcha live chat with Vicky Tsai on 4/17 revived my love for the Camellia Cleansing Oil โค๏ธ  It's so gentle and so effective at removing my makeup
  • Belief Moisture Bomb - this stuff is bomb.com
  • Murad Invisiblur will forever be an HG for me thanks to hearing yo uall rave about it over the years

Makeup:

  • Milk's new Kush Mascara is really great as it makes my lashes super long and thick annnnd separated. On top of that the cannabis oil feels so nourishing going onto my lashes
  • Benefit Hoola Bronzer - still a favorite of mine, no news here
  • My Pat McGrath MTHRSHP Sublime Bronze Ambition Eyeshadow Palette is such a game changing palette for me since it's super pigmented, great for everyday or a bold nighttime look, and the product is extremely easy to work with
  • MBH Amrezy Highlighter - I mean, come on! This highlighter is gorgeous so I am thrilled that @gonerogue brought this product to my attention IRL at our in-store Palettes Party in March

Bath & Body:

  • Kopari Body Crush body scrub is so great if you're exfoliating. I love that you can use it to exfoliate and don't need to apply lotion after showering. I'm all about multi-tasking ๐Ÿ™‚

I'll add more favorites if anything slipped my mind!

Re: April Favorites

@KatieBT  I, too, love the Tatcha Camillia Cleansing Oil.  I tried a different cleansing balm,  but it just didn't work the same as Tatcha!  Put that with their enzyme rice, and your skin feels really smooth and soft!

Re: April Favorites

@KatieBT I love belifโ€™s Moisture bomb too!

Re: April Favorites

@KatieBT You are too kind! I have to thank you for helping me track it down in the store. My highlight game has changed thanks to ABH Amrezy!

Re: April Favorites

I love your choices @KatieBT, thanks for starting this thread and sharing! I really love that Alterna hair CC cream, itโ€™s seriosuly AH-mazing! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป
