Color IQ is a service Sephora offers in store (free of charge). You can go into the store and they will remove your makeup so either come without it or be prepared to try a new foundation afterwards. It scans a couple places on your face using light technology to see your true skin tone. Once they give you an IQ#, you can type it into the search bar and it will show you all of your foundation shades for various brands.

Here's what the numbers mean:

There are four letters/numbers to your IQ number. Lets say your color iq was 2Y06. 

The First + Second Number: The amount of red (cool) or yellow (warm) tones in your skin. So if I'm 2 y I would have more yellow in my skin than someone who is 1 y and less yellow than someone who is a 3 y. 

The Last 2 Numbers: This is basically how dark your skin is. Someone who is an 07 will be fairer than someone who is an 08.

Hope that helps. One thing to note is that if you are matched to a concealer it's probably a similar shade to your foundation so just go about 2 shades lighter and you can find your concealer match.
