skincare help

hi! im a 21 year old girl with acne prone skin & frequent breakouts. my skin is so so dry as well. i cant seem to find a skin care routine that works with me. i currently use the la roche posay gentle cleanser + the double repair moisturizer. i strayed away from the topicals my dermatologist gave me because it makes my skin so unbelievably dry and no moisturizer seems to help😔 any recommendations would be so nice!

Re: skincare help

I would recommend the ordinary products. A full routine for that would be the cleanser, the hyloronic acid (for your acne) and there natural moisturizer (for your dryness). I also ding skincare very expensive, but this is an amazing price. The set with all of these things is around 25 dollars only!!

@gigihan112 Ahhhh… dryness. I know her well.

Out of curiosity, what did your dermatologist suggest? Some of the ones to help fight acne can be drying but know the key ingredients can help you find others ones to pair with to minimize the dryness. If you can add them back in, then you can get the best of both worlds.

In the meantime, here’s a few suggestions that can help.

Start off with your cleaner. It can help prep your skin for the rest of your routine.

Tower 28 Beauty SOS Daily Hypochlorous Acid Spray for Breakouts & Redness 4 oz/ 120 mL has hypochlorous acid. It is naturally produced by your body and helps calm irritation, redness, and has antimicrobial properties. This makes it helpful for irritated acne prone skin.

The INKEY List Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Hydrating Face Serum has hyaluronic acid, which is also naturally produced by your body. It helps draw moisture back into your skin to keep it hydrated. It can also help with negating the drying effects of your other topicals.

Your moisturizer would go next for additional moisture and to seal everything in.

Finally, add your favourite sunscreen/SPF during the day to prevent UV rays from undoing all your hard work. At night, you can end off with something thick like Aquaphor or Vaseline.

I hope this helps and you find some relief.

Re: skincare help

hi! really late response, but my dermatologist wanted me to use tretinoin and arazlo. the mix of those made my skin so flaky and nothing seemed to work. i got the hyluronic acid from inkey and it works so nice! ill def try out the moisturizer! thank you!

Re: skincare help

Slugging overnight using the cerave healing ointment or vaseline or aquaphor really helps me when i get dry in the winter. I wouldnt do it every night but maybe like 4x a week if your really dry. hydrolonic acid is also really good. one of my fav hydrating but not oily moisturizers is the cosrx one
