Why?? Help with pilling

I'm trying to layer

THE ORDINARY -

(Buffet)

Mad Hippie Vitamin CMad HippieMad Hippie

And

Lancome Bienfait UV spf 50Lancome UVLancome UV

It pills when I add the Lancome last.  What order then would work?  Please help a girl out.

Re: Why?? Help with pilling

How long are you waiting between applying the other products and the sunscreen, @l8totheparty? I've found that I need a good 10 minutes at least between my moisturizer application and sunscreen application regardless of what formulas or brands I'm using.

Re: Why?? Help with pilling

Hmmm...like a minute because I'm in a rush? 😆

I will give it 10 minutes tomorrow, and see if that helps.

Re: Why?? Help with pilling

@l8totheparty , I have heard that pilling may happen when silicone-based products are layered with silicone-free ones. In this situation, it looks like there are no silicones in The Ordinary Buffet serum, whereas the Lancome sunscreen is a silicone-based formula.

Do you apply a moisturizer in between The Ordinary and Lancome products? Perhaps also try pressing or patting the Lancome sunscreen, instead of rubbing or buffing it in.

Re: Why?? Help with pilling

I do not apply another moisturizing step.  I will try patting the Lancome on tomorrow and see if it helps.

Order of Layers:

Buffet

Mad Hippie

Lancome

And I've tried switching up the Mad Hippie and the Buffet with the Lancome still last with the same pilling result.

I thought it may be an oil issue? That's where I'm lost.

Re: Why?? Help with pilling

@MlleCC is right about silicone-based products pilling over non-silicone-based ones @l8totheparty ! Not an oil issue. Layering silicone-based over another silicone-based product won't cause pilling. Like with like.

I just either wait like @quspork said before putting on the spf or pat/swipe if not enough time

Thanks for the advice!  @RNGesusPls
