What’s your Mask Game ?

What are good masks for dry skin? Or sensitive skin? How often do you use masks? Minutes ? Nighttime or daytime ? High-end / low-end?

Re: What’s your Mask Game ?

I have several masks but I use them according to how my skin acts each week and I don't overdo them (this can strip the skin). I have sensitive oily skin w/ slight rosacea.

My favorite overnight masks: Watermelon sleeping mask and Laneige Water Sleeping Mask (great for winter & hydration)

Weekly Exfoliating Mask: Herbivore Blue Tansy. You can also use the Drunk Elephant baby facial (they do the same thing). I have sensitive skin so I only use it once a week

If my skin is dull: Herbivore Pineapple Brightening Mask or Tata Harper clarifying

If I have breakouts or have been wearing a ton of makeup that week: Glamglow supermud, Boscia charcoal pudding or origins charcoal mask. All are great. Sometimes I will use them only in my t zone if my skin is a bit dry

If pores are huge: Caudalie Detox Mask or Whish renewing mud mask

If I've been in the sun a lot or showing lines: Glamglow gravity mask

RE: What’s your Mask Game ?

Hi. I really like this question because the game can really be played in so many ways. With combo, sensitive, and acneic skin, I do wash-off masks two to three times a week, usually at night. I agree with the person who replied before me. Using different types of masks in different areas in one sitting is great! If I could, I’d do a sheet mask every morning. I’ve had great experience with Origins Rose masks, but even better success with Face Shop’s sheet masks. A true winner is the sheet mask with cotton seed extract, collagen, and hyarulonic acid. Hope this helps!

Re: RE: What’s your Mask Game ?

Agreed. I have very sensitive skin & teh Origins charcoal mask is great.

I use a mask twice a week. My staple mask is by Shea Mois...

I use a mask twice a week. My staple mask is by Shea Moisture clay mask for 10 minutes. Then either a Sephora sheet mask (Pearl and Green Tea) or Boscia Black Peel Mask. Both for the recommended time 30 minutes.

Re: What’s your Mask Game ?

Rinse-Off Mask - I use these at night - the clay and hydrating masks about 1-2x per month; the oatmeal mask when needed

  • Skinceuticals Clarifying Clay Masque (high-end)
  • GlamGlow ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment Masque (travel size) (mid-priced)
  • First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask (travel size) (mid-priced)

Sheet Masks – these are around $4-6 per mask, but you can usually find some good deals online. I use these at night, probably 2-3x per week; but twice a year, I try to do 1 sheet mask each night for 7-10 days.  I usually do the daily sheet masking thing when it gets colder and my skin starts feels more dry with the change in seasons (i.e., summer to fall, and again when it changes from fall to winter).

  • Too Cool for School Coconut Ceramide Mask
  • Sephora Collection Face Mask – Avocado or Honey
  • Leaders Sheet Masks - 7 Wonders Amazonian Acai Anti-Pollution Mask; or 7 Wonders Kalahari Melon Moisturizing Mask; or Aloe Soothing Renewal Mask; or Aquaringer Treatment Mask; or Daily Wonders Too Much Fun in the Sun Mask
  • TonyMoly MasterLab Intensive Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Mask Sheet
  • Dr. Jart+ Dermask Water Jet Vital Hydra Solution Sheet Mask

Others - I use these about 1-2x per week at night, depending on how dry or dehydrated my skin is; more frequently in the winter.

  • Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask to Quench Skin’s Thirst
  • Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

Re: What’s your Mask Game ?

I always use masks at night. I love switching them up or even mixing them together in different areas. Depending on the stuff my skin is going through once or twice a week. These are all sensitive and dry skin approved for me. I have dry/combo skin but get breakouts sometimes. In the order of how much I like them:

Purifying masks:

  1. Sisley Creamy Mask with Tropical Resins (high-end)
  2. Evanhealy French Rose Clay mask  (lower-end)
  3. Perricone MD Chloro Plasma Purifying Mask (high-end)

Hydrating/Moisturizing masks:

  1. Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask (high-end)
  2. SK-II Facial Treatment Mask (sheet)  (high-end)
  3. Dr. Jart+ Hydration Lover Rubber Mask (sheet)  (lower-end)
