Vitamin c

I started using vitamin c serum along with moisturizer but the result was redness on the skin

Re: Vitamin c

Hi @nanalak , I had a very similar reaction when I tried the same product you used (the Dior vit. c). I have fair, dry and acne prone skin - i'm not sure what your skin is like but mine is what I would call OVER sensitive. I started using FRESH Vitamin Nectar Glow Juice (https://www.sephora.com/ca/en/product/vitamin-nectar-glow-juice-antioxidant-face-serum-P450210?icid2...)  in the summer and I have been loving it! I haven't had any negative reactions to the product, I find the scent delightful and it leaves my skin feeling absolutely radiant! I have also used Youth To The People Superfood Firm and Brightening Vitamin C Serum (https://www.sephora.com/ca/en/product/kale-tri-peptide-37-vitamin-c-age-prevention-serum-P411389?ici...), but I followed it with their Superberry Hydrate + Glow Serum  (https://www.sephora.com/ca/en/product/superberry-hydrate-glow-oil-P430146?icid2=products%20grid:p430...) as I found the Vit. C serum left my skin feeling a bit thirsty. A few other brands I have found work well with my very sensitive skin are: Laneige, Claudalie, Drunk Elephant and Farmacy. I hope you find the right Vitamin C mix for you!

RE: Re: Vitamin c

Thanks Boudreau for your reply. I also have a very super sensitive skin. I will check the brands u mentioned.

Re: RE: Re: Vitamin c

I hope you find something that works @nanalak , I know how frustrating it can be...

Re: Vitamin c

@nanalak  Which vitamin c did you use?? I’ve been using FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry and I have very sensitive skin and I’ve been having great results. I’ve also used DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma™ Vitamin C Day Serum and SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream and I had no reactions. Maybe it’s just the specific one you tried?

RE: Re: Vitamin c

Thanks for your reply. Honestly I was using different products at once as an evening routine. Iam not sure if I got a chemical reaction!! Iam using Dior capture youth serum that has vitamin C, also the beautybio that comes with a roller, and Clinique serge moisturizer, philosophy cleanser, and Lancôme eye cream!!

Re: Vitamin c

@nanalak
I get a reaction to Vitamin C products whenever I use them, @carlym99 suggestion may be right - the concentration could be too high, or if it’s your first time using a C product it may not agree with your skin.
I get red and then my skin breaks out in a rash with 90% of Vitamin C products so I try to avoid.

RE: Re: Vitamin c

Thanks for your reply. The Dior vitamin C Iam using has 20%, and Iam using beautybio too, I will try the one you have mentioned.

Re: Vitamin c

Hi @nanalak  - It sounds like the serum you used either isn't meant for sensitive skin OR has too high of a concentration for you. Which vitamin c product were you using? You might want to try using a product that doesn't have as many harsh ingredients. Here are a couple suggestions -

EDIBLE BEAUTY - No. 3 Exotic Goddess Ageless Serum

YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Firm and Brighten Vitamin C Serum

RE: Re: Vitamin c

Thanks for your reply. Iam using the radiance besutybio, and Dior (20%) vitamin c
