Visibly dry skin

Hello everyone, I’m a 21 year old struggling with dry skin, I have tried literally everything that Sephora employees recommend. I see little to no difference and I drink at least 2 liters of water daily. I currently cleanse with the Korres greek yogurt and my clairsonic 2 (I use the cashmere brush head). I tone with my Estee Lauder perfectly clean, or sometimes with the Shiseido pureness softener. I use the Korres wild rose oil in the morning, and I let it settle for about 10-15 minutes, then moisturize with La Mer soft creme. At night I use my Korres oil, followed by Sunday Riley Luna, let it settle for 10-15 minutes, and follow it with Sunday Riley good genes. I finish with Creme de La Mer. I spent good money on other cleansers and toners, I dont know what I’m doing wrong for my skin to just be so textured because of dry patches. I am very gentle and delicate with my skin and I’m noticing fine lines at this early age because of dryness.

RE: Visibly dry skin

I was having the same problem as yours last winter (my nose and cheeks are alway dry and flaking), and Clarins Blue Orchid facial oil saves my skin. My skin type is dry and sensitive. I’ve only used the half bottle of this tiny facial oil through out the last winter. All you need to do is to apply 1-2drop(s) of the facial oil and massage on your skin every night, before applying your moisture cream. Hope this helped!

Hi! Have you tried the Drink of H2O Hydrating Boost Moisturizer from Tarte? It is amazing and is super great for dry skin!

Re: Visibly dry skin

I recently started using the Peter Thomas Roth Cloud Cream, and it's really helped with my dry skin. You apply it before using a moisturizer, and the hyaluronic acid draws in moisture.

RE: Visibly dry skin

For me nose always got really dry. For me I add hydration with the Drunk Elephant Hydra and I lock in moisture with the Drunk Elephant Whipped Lala cream. For me, the idea of adding hydration and locking it in with a moisturizer has made all the difference. If that doesn't work, I also agree with the other commenter that one of your existing products might be stripping moisture from your skin. Maybe try not using them then reintroducing them back in one by one to test if one is the main culprit?

Re: Visibly dry skin

hi,

i'm 21 too and i have the same problem with extremely dry skin. products like luna and good genes are great but will dry you out if used daily my experience. you could cut back on those to 1-2 times a week instead. you could also try hydrating face masks a few times each week, that's helped a lot for me. also any products with vitamin c is great, you could look into that

Re: Visibly dry skin

@ShayLeo I agree with @jeslynA Retinol products like the Luna oil, and the sunday riley good genes can definitely dry out skin. I think her suggestion of cutting those down to twice a week and seeing if that helps is a good suggestion, especially as we roll into the colder months. I also recommend rotating a sleeping mask into your routine on the days you do not use those products so that you can deliver an extra dose of moisture to your skin1
