The ordinary vs drunk elephant?

I love the drunk elephant night serum but I'm looking for a cheaper alternative. Is anyone familiar with The Ordinary brand and couldrecommend what products from them to get that would be similar to the DE night serum ?

I use a lot of their Acids works the best but the Drunk Elephant has benign less than subpar. But it is always a trial and error with skin care lines there maybe something that works for you.

The Ordinary is a cheap brand for a reason.  You do get what you pay for.  Drunk Elephant works and the products last a long time.  So worth the investment.  I'll never use another line.

Re: The ordinary vs drunk elephant?

I want to preface by saying that I LOVE The Ordinary, it's an integral part of my regimen, and the day Sephora starts stocking Deciem products will be a happy, happy day for me....

That said, what you're paying for with Drunk Elephant's products is *formula*

The mixture of actives and helpful natural ingredients make the product effective; if you want to save money, and play chemist, you can achieve some of the same results with products from the Ordinary (they have both glycolic and lactic Acid products, key ingredients in DE's TLC), but you're paying less money for plain ingredients that you will have to research and test out to integrate into your routine.

I get frustrated when people call The Ordinary products "dupes" for Drunk Elephant products, because it does the good people in both businesses a disservice: They are not going to be equal, but you  can get similar results from trial and error.

Thank you for your response I'm not very good with skincare yet and I was looking for recommendations on the specific products from the ordinary that I should try or which would ones I should mix that might help my skin like the DE serum .

Their Lactic 5% is really good, I use it about 3 nights a week (after cleanse, before night cream, standard drill)

as for Glycolic, they have it in toner form (considered a better version of Pixi's Glow Tonic), but it's 9% as opposed to the 12% in TLC, but maybe worth a try?

you def couldn't mix them, but you could tone then serum and see if you get similar results 🙂

Re: The ordinary vs drunk elephant?

I have been using The Ordinary for the last 2 months and it is working very well for me. I mostly use the Advanced Retinoid 2% and the Buffet.

RE: The ordinary vs drunk elephant?

I tried The Ordinary brand, and I'm not impressed. Yes the price point is awesome compared to Drunk Elephant, but the results were not there for me. I actually broke out from the Buffet serum and the RoseHip Seed Oil. I tried 7 of their products, and none were good for my skin. I mean the price point is good if you want to try it, but it's our skin that pays the price. Good luck!

@BriannaBella95 The Ordinary is so praised for it's inexpensiveness...I rec reading reviews on beautypedia.com and seeing what they have to say.  🙂

The ordinary didn't work for me and actually broke out. Just try it out and might work for you
