Tatcha Silk Cream

Hi, all! I'm thinking about trying Tatcha's Silk Cream. If you've used it, tell me how it worked out for you?

Re: Tatcha Silk Cream

I'm using the Indigo Cream at the moment, but I also have the Water Cream and a travel size of the Silk Cream. The Water Cream made me break out at first, and I wasn't a huge fan of how light weight it is, but my skin cleared up after about two weeks and I realised that the creams work much better if you use the Essence as well. The Water Cream is also great for layering under sun protection. The Silk Cream is much richer and makes a lovely night cream, but it also suitable as a day cream if your skin is dry or dehydrated - I'm not sure it is a great choice for day time use if you have very oily skin. The Indigo Cream takes a little more work to apply but it does provide some colour correction for redness and is quite soothing.

I also really like the Silk Canvas, but I don't know if I would buy a full size version because I don't wear make up on a regular basis.

Re: Tatcha Silk Cream

@TypeATina I use a few Tatcha products, including the Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer 0.7 oz/ 20 g  What @lmaster is very true - the amount you need for a smooth application is very, very tiny. The first time I used it was a DS, and I just used my fingers to swipe the little jar and pat onto my skin. I fell in love with the way it applies and makes my makeup look, so I bought the FS. The FS comes with a little disk that has a line on it, with instructions to scrape the disk across the product up to the line, and apply that to your face. My makeup began pilling and I became so frustrated with it; after asking some others on the Tatcha thread, I realized it was just too much product for me skin. I use maybe 1/4 of the suggested amount, and work it in slowly.

All that being said, it is my favorite primer and does what no other primer has done for me. Vicky Tsai, the founder, wrote in the insert that it mimics the wax that geishas would apply during their makeup application. Like almost all Tatcha products, it takes a bit of work but performs like no other. If you can get a sample in store, try it out for a bit to see how you like it before buying, It is pricey, but lasts and lasts!

Re: Tatcha Silk Cream

Like you said @eshoe with most of the products by tatcha literally the smallest amount will transform your skin and makeup

Re: Tatcha Silk Cream

Is this about how much you use, @lmaster? (I added a pic in my post above)

Re: Tatcha Silk Cream

Exactly @eshoe that's the perfect amount! You would of laughed at me,,, the first time I used  tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer 0.5 oz/ 14.2 g ,,,I literally had the size of a quarter and a thick amount! Omg that was a disaster. Both of those primers are very similar, so I knew immediately with the  Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer 0.7 oz/ 20 g  I would literally need a grain of rice sized amount for my entire face, but the tatcha literally makes my makeup stay in place all day!

Re: Tatcha Silk Cream

I’ve never tried the tarte primer, @lmaster, but just re read the OP and realized I misread it...so sorry @TypeATina now you know more than you ever wanted to about the Silk Canvas😂 well at least you know we both love it😊

Re: Tatcha Silk Cream

Omg @eshoe I did too!! So sorry @TypeATina yeah but we both love the primer!

Tatcha Silk Cream

I love all of tatchas products @TypeATina its a great primer! you only need a very very small amount and pat it in to your skin.
