Super Dry Skin

I suffer from seriously dry skin and I am constantly using a variety of moisturizers specialized for my skin type. But it doesn’t matter what products I use, my nose always remains super dry and flaky which makes foundation difficult to wear. Does anyone have this same issue?

Without going overboard (I don’t know what your skin care routine is) try to find a good exfoliater for your skin type. Also find a good moisturizer! You can same a few until you find a combo that works best. 😘

I recommend using the SK-II facial treatment clear lotion as a toner. It gives that extra boost of hydration! I usually use the Glow Recipe watermelon sleep mask 2-3 times a week and is has helped so much with my dry winter skin. You should also try the Clinique dramatically different moisturizing cream (not to be confused with the gel). It's very thick and keeps me moisturized without breaking me out.

Hi there! What is your current skin care routine? And do you wear make up and if so, what do you use around your nose and other flaky areas? I'm curious to know to see what might be contributing to dryness and what might be helpful to add to your routine. In general, I would recommend a gentle everyday chemical exfoliant with AHA to remove the dead cells on the surface of your skin. In addition to your day time moisturizer, I would also recommend using a moisturizing night mask to provide your skin some moisture in the evening while you sleep. Best of luck!

I highly recommend looking into the Dr.Jart+ Ceramidin line. It really has helped my skin when I was experiencing dermatitis! The cream and liquid were my go tos 🙂

@ChaChaCat83 hello! I would first and foremost recommend staying very hydrated. I know that's pretty generic advice but it really does help. further I would recommend adding the following products in your skin routine 1. Peter Thomas Roth's Firm X Peeling Gel. don't go overboard on this stuff...but it will remove the flaky Pieces and exfoliate. 2. use Philosophy's renewed hope in a jar moisturizer in the am and pm. 3. Add in some moisturizing masks such as Peter Thomas Orths Cucumber Gel mask or Fresh's Rose Mask. 4. Use a moisturizing primer before makeup such as Too Faced Hangover Primer. best of luck!!

Also, the lancer exfoliator or the Tatcha one for sensitive skin are really good at getting off the dry skin or patches.

Have you tried the Dr.Jart Ceramidin cream or Moisturizing toner? They’re both wonderful for my dry skin. If I’m feeling extra dry, I add in the Caudalie SOS serum for some extra moisture! I have naturally dry skin and now that I live in Wisconsin I’m always looking for the best moisturizers and such for my skin!

A facial oil might provide the moisturizing boost you need. Just add a drop to your regular moisturizer as you apply to your nose 🙂

Have you tried a silicone based primer like Smashbox?
