Sunscreen for a Lifeguard???

So I’m a lifeguard, I’m in the sun all day and I have a darker skin tone. What do you guys recommend for me I have dry skin and I would like one with no white cast

Re: Sunscreen for a Lifeguard???

@Annika8 I'm researching sunscreens right now, and have found beautypedia to be helpful.  It's a little challenging as many of the sunscreens they've reviewed have been discontinued or had their names changed, and many of the current sunscreens out there have not been reviewed by them.  However, I've been able to get the gist of the reviews and compare ingredient lists which have been helpful.  Good luck!

Re: Sunscreen for a Lifeguard???

I use a drugstore sunscreen because they tend To be less expensive and when you’re spending that much time in the sun is very important to re-apply your sunscreen throughout the day.  I’m more inclined to use enough sunscreen and reapply when it doesn’t hurt my bank account.

I’ve been using the Neutrogena Hydroboost SPF50 which at ~$15 CAD is still pricey for a drugstore sunscreen it’s super cheap compared to many of the brands on Sephora. Its got fragrance but it applies as a gel-cream consistency and I’ve never noticed even the slightest white cast on my medium toned skin. I also find it moisturizing.  Since I have oily skin in the summer I can get away with wearing just that and no moisturizer on my skin.

before this product I used Neutrogenas UltraSheer sunscreen. I don’t remember the price but it has a slight white cast on my skin and when it got into my eyebrows you could see the white pretty clearly if I didn’t rub it well enough. It also has a heavier feel so re-applying it didn’t feel as nice. I do know they also have this sunscreen in a spray formula and perhaps that one will be better for reapplying

Re: Sunscreen for a Lifeguard???

@Annika8 @My first recommendation is to wear a hat to shield your face. I was a lifeguard when I was a teenager and I seriously regret not protecting my skin more! A hat will give some shielding to your face even if the sunscreen sweats off.

the Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Invisible Broad Spectrum SPF 40 PA +++ 1.7 oz/ 50 mL  is great because it’s clear and slides on easily
