Sunday Riley ice

I’m super upset I tried the Sunday Riley ice and broke out in hives all over my face/neck it’s bumpy it’s uncomfortable its itchy. What is in this product that makes it have such a terrible reaction? Idk but I’m never using this brand again It’s ruined it for me. Im only speaking to spread awareness and no one else buy and tries this product. Also for the price point you would think it would be a high quality product. Want to also add I do no have sensitive skin I barely even get a pimple I tried this product for a few days before I noticed the reaction I immediately stopped and now will be returning but I feel they owe we a lot more then just my money back.

Re: Sunday Riley ice

@ashelliott - I noticed a few ingredients that could be an issue aside from the coconut that has already been mentioned.

- Lanolin is an allergen; it causes contact dermatitis

- Squalane is made from different items; I can't use olive-derived sqalane for example

- Algae can be an issue for some people

Sometimes it can just be the combination of ingredients and not a specific ingredient.  Unfortunately, trial and error is a pain!

Re: Sunday Riley ice

Thank you for this!!

Re: Sunday Riley ice

I'm sorry you had a negative reaction, @ashelliott. Unfortunately it's possible to just react poorly from time to time to certain ingredients or formulations. I've learned over the years that brands like Origins and Mizon aren't for me because they don't work for my skin and I end up with breakouts or irritated skin when I use their products, doesn't seem to matter what it is. Others love their products though because they work for them. If this is the only thing you've tried from Sunday Riley, I wouldn't write off the whole brand quite yet. It may just been the one product. But of course that's up to you.

Re: Sunday Riley ice

Are you sensitive to coconut? Because coconut is very high in the ingredient list. Also, Sunday Riley makes all their products in small batches, and I’ve found them to be inconsistent. On more than one occasion I have purchased something from them that had gone off.

Re: Sunday Riley ice

I’ve never had any problem with coconut so not sure why that would cause any issues… my face feels and looks bad I hope this goes away really soon 😞 I feel super embarrassed going anywhere right now. But I definitely am going to patch test next time I try something new! Just never knew this was a thing that could happen! I was in shock and still am
