Sunday Riley: UFO or Good Genes?

I would like to add a Sunday Riley product into my current skin care routine and can’t decide if Good Genes or UFO would be better for me. I have clear skin but get some breakouts from hormones. I am quite fair so I have some redness in my cheeks, and have combination skin. Any suggestions?

Re: Sunday Riley: UFO or Good Genes?

Personally I use both products and think they are great for keeping clear skin. If you are primarily concerned with breakouts then I recommend the UFO oil. I like to mix 3-4 drops with my foundation as it helps prevent breakouts if I will be wearing foundation for a long time. I also use it as a spot treatment.

RE: Sunday Riley: UFO or Good Genes?

Hi. I hope you have as much success as the previous commenters and I have had. Since you mentioned hormonal acne, I would suggest UFO since salicylic acid will go beyond the skin surface and reach what ever is in your pores. Good Genes is great because it exfoliates the skin’s surface with its AHA power. I enjoy using both for different reasons based on what is going on with my skin. Hope this helps!

RE: Sunday Riley: UFO or Good Genes?

If you have breakouts then I recommend the UFO oil 10000x over the good genes. I would never classify myself as sensitive but the good genes tingled a bit so if you're sensitive stay away. I like the UFO oil and the Martian toner. I use the toner on a cotton pad morning and night. I had a few breakouts around my mouth/chin during that time of the month but I had some old scarring around there too and it got rid of it in a week. I'm combo skin and I don't think the toner is drying at all. I really like the drunk elephant tlc glycolic night serum over the good genes. Also the herbivore moon fruit is a good natural exfoliating treatment along with the lapis oil if you're combo to oily.

Thanks for the DE  tlc suggestion. If the good genes affected you and you don;t have snesitive skin like me, then that's probably going to be my next purchase along the SR Juno oil. I would love to get the UFO but I think it's safer to use the JUno oil specifically for sensitive skin.

UFO as a spot treatment. Glycolic night serum from drunk elephant instead of good genes. Take a sample. My skin got really irritated with good genes. I'm not a sensitive skin type. I also like Algenist bi phase peel and dr Dennis gross extra strength pads.

RE: Sunday Riley: UFO or Good Genes?

Good Genes is such an amazing anti-again treatment to add to your collection. It retextures the skin giving you that youthful, brand new, smooth skin while letting your inner glow radiate through. It’s a must have in my skincare regimen. There is a smell that comes with using it but it goes away. Go to your nearest Sephora and pick up a free sample of it! Try it for a week and see how much a difference it can add!

I also have combination skin and UFO has been my breakout battleaxe; it makes a great spot treatment.  I haven't tried Good Genes (yet), but for redness, I feel like the Martian toner has really evened out my (also fair) skintone.
